It been more a month now since Nigeria official suspended popular micro blogging platform Twitter because they felt the platform was becoming 'recruiting ground for folks who want to undermine Nigerian corporate existence'.

I don't know what the officials were thinking perhaps may be they thought twitter will 'beg' or seek some sort of accommodation but whatever it is, it sure ain't working and as an American if there is one thing we don't do - we don't prostrate ourselves to any foreign powers let alone a country that relies deeply on us and our Allies before they breathe.

Now in a healthy democracy there has to be some form of checks and balances which in Nigeria's case is the National Assembly but i don't think the folks who are law makers are aware of their job description, a democratically elected president behaving like a dictator and decided one day to shut down a vital means of communication because the company decided to do what they are supose to do.

What happens to the rule of law, human right and freedom of speech ??
Well our current leaders believe that Nigeria should be under Sharia Law OR they just are power hungry/greedy so they don't care about human rights. 70% want Nigeria to become an Islamic Republic where the only laws are Allah, and the remaining 30% just care about oil money.

So if ur poor/christian/not Fulani, you dont really have human rights

All this will do more harm to Nigeria on the international scene, their actions is bad for business.
