There is always a time of ignorance and I regret it.

Lesson learnt.
Help is what I need now.

First, Olist is never a trusted site, second item that should have raised your curiosity as a scam is the corroboration between the name of the biz and the name on the account number given to you.
So sorry for your loss, nxt time be vigilant

I was searching for livestocks to buy online, so I saw an advertisement on 'Olist' of a farm(ADEBEST FARM located at Ijebu North, Ogun state.) with a phone number(+234 813 893 0631) to call which I did immediately and we started talking. In the course of discussing business he asked me to make a payment so that the livestocks would be delivered to me the next day. Out of desperation (which I regret) i made a transfer of 25k which is the full payment to the account number he sent
(GARUBA JATO
8109910489 Eco bank). Since I made that transfer, he has insisted he won't send the livestock because he had not received my transfer even after sending my proof of payment.
I contacted my bank for assistance and the informed me that the transfer I initiated was completed and my bank also sent the transaction ID:000016210702133605000019149519) for him to forward to his bank in case his claim was true. It's more than four days today and he has since refused to act or show commitment to my plight.
As I speak, he is ignoring my calls and chat.
Please able nairalanders how do i recover my money?

Business is booming for this scammer. I have called him out many times here on nairaland pet section. No wonder he still keeps scamming because people are still falling for it.

There's nothing either bank can and will do. Unless you have a way of tracking down the owner of the account he asked you to pay that money into, and yiu get the person picked up, and they in turn give him up, you cannot retrieve your money. He uses random accounts to collect tranfers. I am very sure he asks his innocent friends or people around to give him their account numbers to receive money. Tells them a bogus tale about issies with his bank and promises to give them something for the stress. This way he will never use his own account, so you never get to find his real name.

I don't buy any stuff online, it is my personal policy.. if I ain't meeting you in person to make payments then forget it...
Even all this Jumia, konga etc, I don't see where person payment enter voicemail for prominent apps for this naija..

That's still him selling generators here. Sometimes he claims to sell cars. Other times iphones. And in all his ads, he must talk about delivery and payment or commitment before business starts

lesson learnt, as far as u are in Nigeria doing business, there is a high chance; 90% of people u want to do business with has one or two intentions to defraud u or cheat u. Open ya eyes!!!

HOW TO RETRIEVE YOUR MONEY AFTER YOU HAVE BEEN SCAMMED.

I am sharing a knowledge today on "Tips on how to retrieve your money after you have been scammed".

Please read careful and learn.

20% of social media users and shoppers have been scammed at one point or the other, either large bucks or small money and It's quite painful.

Many people don't always know what to do, so today am sharing with you things you do, when you realize a page you paid for a service or goods is ghosting you:

1. Screenshot all previous chats across all messaging app (IG and WhatsApp or FB).

2. Write out the Full name and account number of the page or person.

3. Go to the last notification your bank sent you after you made the payment (via mobile app or text) copy out the "TRANSACTION ID NUMBER".

4. Go to any branch of the scam artist's bank (the bank the scammer uses), ask to see the CUSTOMER SERVICE in charge of FRAUD.

5. If you can, print out all those chats with the scammer, and submit it.

While you are there, send an email to SCAMMER'S BANK and copy CBN FRAUD DESK (anticorruptionunit@cbn.gov.ng) this will ginger the bank to take it up fast.

What should you expect from this? The culprit/suspects account will be PLACED ON HOLD. His BVN will be blocked permanently. No account will ever be opened neither will he be able to transact banking business in that name until he clears himself with the bank.

Meaning he/she cannot transfer or withdraw until they visit the bank, and when they do, the bank will contact the police and the suspect when proven guilty will sign a waiver allowing the bank to refund your money.
