The Nigerian Civil Service Union has said the secret recruitment of over 2,000 workers has put the Federal Inland Revenue Service under financial strain.

The union revealed that the agency was finding it difficult to pay salaries at some point this year after the secret engagement of the staff members within a period of 18 months.

The NCSU in a letter to the FIRS Chairman, Muhammad Nami, dated June 21, 2021, demanded an end to the re-engagement of retired directors and other categories of staff.

The letter titled, ’21 days’ ultimatum to FIRS management,’ was signed by the Chairman, NCSU-FIRS Unit, Idris Abdulrahman; and the Secretary, Idowu Jimoh, respectively.

It was copied to the Minister of Finance, Nigeria Labour Congress, Nigerian Civil Service Union, NCSU, Federal Council, the FIRS board secretariat and all FIRS staff.

The letter read in part, “In compliance with extant provisions/protocols on recruitment and career progression, we demand the immediate stoppage of re-engagement of retired directors and other categories of staff. We have noted that timely payment of salaries was a challenge at some point in 2021 after discrete recruitment of over 2,000 staff within a record period of less than 18 months.”

The union attributed the dwindling revenue collection in the country to the ‘’untimely implementation of the tax pro-max application by the Federal Inland Revenue Service.”

It said the implementation has had adverse effects on collections which ought to be high in June/July from analysis of past records.

While lauding the application which enables seamless registration, filing and payment of taxes and automatic credit of withholding tax as well as other credits to the tax payers’ accounts, the union faulted the timing of the implementation which it said coincided with the FIRS’ peak period for tax collection.

The union, therefore, recommended that the application be done in phases while asking that the tax payers should be allowed to file both electronically and manually.

The NCSU also handed down a 21-day ultimatum to the management to meet its various demands, including the payment of general performance bonus for collecting 98.6 per cent of the 2020 revenue target.

But the FIRS spokesman, Abdullahi Sumaila, denied that the FIRS was finding it difficult to pay salaries, adding that the agency has been paying salaries as and when due.

“You would have seen protests if there was secret recruitment, which is not true. All I know is that they have been paying salaries as and when due,” he added.

When it's time to recruit into a juicy Parastatals, Agencies or Ministries, they do it secretively by hand-picking their relatives dead or alive and hide it from the common man.

But when it comes to recruiting into the death trap security agencies like the Army, SARS and Police, they will gladly open the floodgates and even make it easy for the common man by reducing the academic requirements to First School Leaving Certificate. (FSLC)

Meanwhile, and other spammers of this website continue to buy data with his personal stipend here to praise his darling daddy with it while Yusuf is marrying the emirs daughter and flying presidential jet to Bauchi where his friend married the Governor's daughter.

You mean they secretly recruited 2000 southerners... They'll come here and start posting long epistle on how Fulanis are controlling their souls. undecided

Do you know that when bandits kidnap people in the North, they now collect onions and goats in exchange?
This fulani thing I just quoted, if they kidnap him, they will collect goat in exchange. A full breed German shepherd dog can buy 12 goats in the North.

This boy and his entire family are not up to 1 dog that we use to put in our gates in the South. When next you see a dog, that dog is worth more than this animal and his entire family.

I'll wager one of my balls that 1,900 out of that 2,000 will be Fulanis. Not just Fulanis, but highly incompetent dolts.

The rest of the country, the competent and the qualified can go to blazes with the remaining 100 slots.

The moment they edged out that Tinubu's boy (can't recall his name now), I knew they wanted that cash cow for themselves like they took over NNPC and the rest.

What the average Fulani refuses to acknowledge is that hard work is needed to build a business and diligence is needed to keep it afloat. What the average Fulani delights in is to ride on someone else's success without trying hard to contribute their quota to make things work. A prime example are the herdsmen who delight in taking their cows to forage on crops of farmers who have worked so hard to till their farms. Another example is Buhari whose success in his early days is attributable to his second in command when he was head of state. Even during this his second stint, the few successes the presidency recorded is attributable to Vice president Osinbajo, in the few times he (Buhari) allowed him to handle things.

A third example is the edging out of the former minister of finance for another quota system occupant. The former one has built some strong foundation and base, but soon as this one got there, everything became turpsy turvy. Ditto FIRS.

A fourth but not the least example is the marauding fulani who use terror, banditry, kidnapping, rape and murder to displace the aborigines (original occupants) of lands who have toiled to build their own community to the level of success they are. Fulani will come in, claim the place as their own and claim original ancestry to such places. The end result is usually of destruction and desolation. Plateau state, Jos is a very very good example to the destructive prowess of the fulani.

A place that used to be the delight of white folks and Europeans who see the temperate weather of Jos almost like that of their home country was turned to an overnight nightmare within 7 years. Jos is no longer a favourite destination for tourists in Nigeria.

So is it any surprise that anything a Fulani touches (including Buhari, Malami, Garba Shehu etc dem) touch is always destroyed?
