Thanks a lot, this was helpful. One more question, how long did it take for their Visas to be approved? I would love for them to go with me actually,

Congratulations on the successful completion of your studies.

ILoveDLord:
Good day,

When I applied for my spouse, I applied after I received my stamped passport back from IRCC . And I applied by creating a new profile for my spouse in my spouse's name with all her details. Then I applied for my child(ren) through my spouse's account.

I wrote the statement of purpose in the form of a letter of sponsorship and authorization for my spouse to apply to come to Canada. Giving reasons why she needs to come and join in Canada while I was studying.

Then I attached proof of funds, her credentials, other relevant documents, etc.

I was the one doing the application, but the profile was hers, there was no direct connection between my profile and her profile.
I did all if these before I left Nigeria, once my study visa was approved

While it was still being processed, when I arrived Canada, I quickly attached to her profile my study permit, student enrollment letter, student ID, tuition fee payments, social insurance number document, and all other relevant documents I received in Canada, by submitting a web form.

Hope this helps.

Wish you the best.

PS: I am really enjoying living in Canada, after I completed my MSC. Citizenship is the goal now.

To those of you that has gotten BVL and no PPR yet, please hope for the best, I got this photo from my screenshots cos I’ve always screenshot most PPR post to read later whenever I’m down, lol, so see it attached below, you can search on his moniker to read his timeline further.

NB: I’m a March 7 applicant, normal application, got my first ghost update yesterday, July 5, 2021 which changes my eligibility to “we’re reviewing whether you meet the eligibility requirements” after several emails and webforms and hope to get a medical request before the date I booked for my upfront Medicals.

It shall end in praises for us all.

It will surely end in praise soonest to all of us expecting PPR

I'm a March 6 applicant.
After months of waiting, my review of eligibility requirements started on 30th June, 2021

I did upfront medical which was passed and updated on 7th June, 2021.

Started my MSc remotely since January

Na God hand I dey now

It was approved in two months, after I submitted her application.

I applied for open work permit for my spouse and visitor visa for my child.
My family stated lived with me here in Canada while I was studying

I am already done with my studies for a long time now. I got my 3 year post graduation work permit and my wife also got another open work permit for 3yrs.
We both have job offers. It only took about 3months after my studies before I got a professional job.

So we are already living in Canada. We have provincial nomination for Permanent residency and we looking forward to Citizenship in the nearest future.

Hope this helps.

I wish you guys all the best! You can always ask me your questions.

Canada is definitely worth it.

Let me justI drop my pen peacefully ✍ ... for now while

Good day guys. Please I need help with selecting a NOC for the job function below.

Federal Minstry of industry, Trade and investment.
Department of Weights and Measures
deals with fairness in trade
we often visit bakeries, shopping mall, petrol stations, quarries, production companies.
to check if what is bn produced tally with what is bn sold to the consumers. so basically to ensure fairness in trade
1. Verification and certification of weighing and measuring equipment.
2. Fairness in trade/ consumer protection
3. Standardization of indigenous measures
4. Issuance of certificate of verification. Etc
5. Crosschecking of prepacked goods to ensure conformity to the Acts
6. Generating revenue to the Govt
7. Prosecution of cases relating to violation of weights and measures Acts.

NOC experts, I need your input on this.
God bless..

As the BVL applicants await their final decision, If you know you got a Medical request and it was passed, then its 90% a PPR and for those that did upfront medicals, its 50 - 50... Even though no one can predict IRCC, I came with this conclusion from the experience I have gathered from this thread and also from people I know of personally since 2018 till date.. It will all end in praise for everyone on this thread. PEACE

Hi Lianna
Thank you ..just want to ask one last question my flight is for 3rd of august and when I registered for my courses I saw it starts on the 8th of September. Do you think it might be a problem for me as it’s more than 1month?

Check when the fall semester begins, for example my course starts 7th of September but the semester starts 30th of August with orientation and the likes.

I am just reading this!!! Wow!!!! Congratulations again and again!!!

I wish I had read it earlier; it would have added to my birthday presents on the 24th. I still take it as one.
Wishing you all the very best Sis.

LadyBlaq:
You all are the real MVPs. Lekiboe, Frank, Anon, Uzomachukwu, Baphil, Lianna, Shuppy, my darling Sis Bisola, infact, all of you, God will continue to bless you all. Special shout out to Oga Seun for creating this impactful forum, i am happy to have known this great family...

So, Australia was my first choice because i couldn't dare try Canada, I had heard of their strict study visa assessments. I spent a lot of money with different agents as most schools in Australia would never deal directly with students. I finally settled with a school in NSW and boom, Corona happened and their borders have been closed since then.

I had no choice but to try the almighty Canada and trust me, my anxiety and preconceived fear of their stringent rules got a better part of me because, my application was messssssyyyyyyyyy!!!!

1) After submitting my app, i read on here that i shouldn't have done a money gift deed, especially when the gift-er isn't related to me, moreover, some folks said they haven't seen any study visa getting approved with a money gift deed by a gift-er who isn't part of the family. Guess what! they were right because my application would be the first they'd see. I am self sponsored applicant and the bulk of my fund was gifted by my late father's friend. Even though we don't share the same blood and name, we had something more than that, we had the commitment and bond. So i had him do a money gift deed(10m), which he paid into my account in bulk, sometime in February. I dug up old pictures of himself and late father, old pictures of himself and myself when i was younger, letter he wrote to me in place of popsy during my graduation in 2013, financial statement histories between myself, momsy and him, from different banks and as old as 2014. I also had him write a support letter and explain why he had to make such commitments, using his Company's letter headed paper.

2) In the bid to achieve the much needed mb capacity, i had shredded lots of documents off my application and eventually ended up tampering with my transcript. I reported myself here on Nairaland, hoping to get some hope or outright condemnation. Lol, i was told to resend the transcript and beg them not to misunderstand my intention, and then hope for the best outcome. Uzomachukwu, on the contrary, opined to be concise and not beg for their mercy as though i have done something "hideous". Eventually, she helped my with a well structured mail and i sent it to IRCC via webform. Baphil also reached out and re-compressed my files, she produced a much clearer file even with the additional missing pages. I don't know how she did it but i was wowed and i sent my files afresh via email.

3) Not a single ghost update till this morning. From what i read here, i guess i didn't really get any ghost update since my status remained "submitted", until this morning when i saw "your status updated". At a point i was praying for any kind of update, lollllllll.

One month and few days after my application, i requested for my GCM notes on 24th May, it came in yesterday, 23rd June. I hoped to tackle any negative feedback via webform but i was disappointed as i couldn't understand anything there and it seemed empty. Nairalanders said otherwise and i should brace myself for a positive feedback, Anon also assured me that a positive decision was coming soon since it was noted at the tail end of the notes, IRCC called my school to re-affirm the validity of my LOA. Even with all these, i remained skeptical, a little pessimistic and a little hopeful

This morning, as i logged in as per my usual ritual, I saw correspondence letter and PPR request sitting pretty on my page long before a mail dropped.
My application was tacky at best, i couldn't pray to save myself, i guess the prayers and good wishes of everyone and my family&friends made a way for me to be found worthy. I pray for this uncommon Grace for all PPR hopefuls, together we will all celebrate.

Application and confirmation was done on 17th April, with complete NSE docs (RLWS-7,7.5,7,7.5)
Biometrics Request on 18th April
IELTS Request letter, i resubmitted my IELTS
Did my upfront medicals together with my biometrics on 29th and 28th of April.
Medicals updated to pass on 28th of may after sending mails to Lagos
First Gcmnotes requested on 24th May, it arrived on 23rd June
Second Gcmnotes requested on 21st June...
Correspondence L and PPR request on 24th June.

Hello everyone,

Congratulations to all those that had PPR and congrats to all hopefuls....

Please I want to ask
1. Please how do I do a gift deed for land?

2. Can I do it for a land that does not have a Certificate of Occupancy?

1) Visit a qualify lawyer
2) I did mine without Certificate of Occupancy and it worked for me.

NB: If you have extra cash with you, you can do property evaluation but in my own case I did not do it.

Good people of Nairaland City, please I need answers on this:

Baphil:
Hello everyone and good morning. Please a few quick questions to confirm an important note;

1. Is it possible to do an undergraduate study permit application for a 19 year old and a work visa for a parent accompanying her?

2. Must the parent have a job offer before she can apply for her visa?

3. All things being equal, what are the chances of being successful in these applications?

Thank you so much as I await your suggestions and contributions to the foregoing.

Thank you so much I really appreciate your response

TradeSunMoore:

I will share my experience my daughter's application which was approved in May, maybe it can be helpful.

I used my salary account with a closing balance of 10M at the point of submission as the main POF. I also showed employment letter/salary increase letters and pay slips. This was supported with another personal account with a closing balance of 1.6M . Of course there were reference letters from the two banks and the two submissions were MBS. So eventually the NSE request was for IELTS only which was not submitted.
The pension account balance and letter from the pension manager was included but may not serve as a POF. Create a table of contents for all documents as advised by the gurus here and merge into one pdf for submission.

1. 19 years old is not a minor. I don't think it's possible except if applicant has some sort of condition that requires the presence of a parent.

2. I don't know

3. Very low

Yes, dual intent is allowed.
But IMHO, I don’t think your case relates to that.
A visit visa and a study permit/visa are both temporary stays. Dual intent in this contest connotes two different intentions. Permanent and temporary intents. Kindly see attached.

I stand to be corrected.
