NOTE: neither UK or UN can have the capacity to influence the political stance of any country.
If a country feel threaten by UN involvement in their internal affairs, the country can simply pull out of the organisation (e.g South Africa)

UK is not joining Nigeria anything. UK never joined Nigeria, they only supervised the amalgamation of Nigeria (it was an agreement between the multi Ethnic groups)

Besides, Nigeria Joined UN, UN didn't gave birth to Nigeria and not bind by any known law to submitt it sovereignty to UN.
