They are just trying to reduce what the south take and increase what the north take. Anyway, south also houses few power sources. Let's see how it goes. 1 Like |

BabaIbo:Must of the power generating stations are located in the South. Over 60% of electricity supply in Nigeria is from gas-fired thermal power plants. 10 Likes 1 Share |

That bill will get a speedy passage since it favours the North. The lawmakers from the South will, however, never find any reason to make, states that have seaports enjoy royalties from maritime activities. For example, Lagos currently earns nothing from all the infrastructure it has to put in place, and for the pollution and other problems associated with the activities of trailers and tankers. 2 Likes |

Remove power from exclusive list and allow states to generate, transmit and distribute electricity. That's the solutions to epileptic power supply in Nigeria 2 Likes 1 Share |

CodeTemplar: That's madness! TCN infrastructure passes all states and many towns and villages in Nigeria. It is owned by the FG as it wasn't privatised. They go ahead and do that and FG will teach such communities a big lesson. |

Doing business is no longer attractive in Nigeria. Apart from uncertainty in government policy, we keep overburdening companies with unnecessary taxes and levies. These companies have 30% Companies tax to pay, 2% education tax, 5% host communities tax, may be liable to other taxes from NITDA and their regulatory authorities. At the end of the day, almost half of your profit is going to a useless government. Why would their be incentive to invest? Yet you wonder why there’s massive unemployment 2 Likes |
