![]() ”Another point of correction is that frontier basins exist all over the country presently, not only in the North of Nigeria. Today we have frontier basin in the South- East, we have frontier basin in the South West and could still be found in the South- South where crude oil will be explored or prospected. THE NORTH IS TAKING A WHOOPING 30%,ITS NOT ONLY FOR THE NORTHERN FIELDS “Talking about the PIB recently passed, our state governors and ministers never called to sit down together and discuss on the issue. Rather we (legislators) lobbied alone. I can assure you we lobbied very well, we met with our northern colleagues to pressure for a good percentage but it was like a lone voice. “Unlike in the North, our governors and ministers and traditional leaders did not work with us, we fought, pushed, strategized alone. Let me tell you, the PIB was passed last week Thursday (penultimate Thursday). But before then, northern governors and foremost traditional rulers were meeting with their legislators to take a stand on the issue. “And did our governors, traditional leaders ever called us to say come and interact, and strategize on how to overcome and we refused? Look at the Minister of State for Petroleum, from Bayelsa, Timipreye Sylva, is he not from South- South? Could he not have also put in pressure to jack up the percentage during the drafting of the bill? So we, the legislators, did our best”. THE SERIOUS REGION CONSULTED AND THE OTHER TOOK THE USUAL FOWL/MARGINALISATION CRY EVEN THOUGH MANY HAVE NOT BOTHERED TO READ THE BILL,TGEY ARE LEADING THE CRY OF WHAT THEY DONT KNOW OR UNDERSTAND,GOOD BLESS NIGERIA |

Abia doesn't need to collect oil Wells. It has its own oil Wells. The truth is that southern lawmakers are fools who never rally together on an issue of regional interest except it infringes political party rights. Northern lawmakers, on the other hand, rally together to protect the interest of their region irrespective of party affiliations. Call them illiterates but they are more sagacious than our politicians from the South who have never failed time and time again to sell their birthright for a morsel of bread. Danzakidakura: |

ItsTutsi:should we say our leaders are blockhead will sound or seems like a confrontation even tho they truly are blockhead always at the mercy of the north everytime. if the north could secure 30% and you are begging for a meagre 3% then they are a collosal mediocre always letting the region down. no disrespect to them tho.. anyway i hope the govfrument know this is sure going to bring disharmony, tension and continued disunity in the country.. if the country leadership is rational and not being sentimental it should allow every region to control it resources and pay 20% to the central govt then watch how industrialised the country becomes.. a region that cannot cope can cut their expenditures and get loans to fund their project. this present govt is a total waste of resources and cant get anywhere in another decade... cc buhari |

Fulani is another dot in a circle, but are masters in manipulation. They've done the Niger Delta legislators strong thing, what we call "abracadabra", the more you look, the less you see. They need someone like Abaribe to checkmate those cunning manipulators. |

the big difference between us and the developed world is that the developed world sit to carefully analyse every situation, draw up solution, analyse them, get a prototype before ever thinking of implementing but in africa their leaders will never embrace advance technology. they wake up from slumber and take up a very critical decision. the US Leader is constantly on social media opining on his next move for achievement but here it takes month for the leaders to post pictures they took with their friends |

If their excuses is that the north has more law makers in the house, and forgot that your region is the same oil producing states meaning all the law makers in the oil producing states including Eastern parts can't disagree with the sitting rather they gave in and accept defeat ok. When the norther governors, traditional rulers , stakeholders, maybe even Mayatti Allah took were having meetings with their northern law makers on PIB, I never heard of that same meetings from the South on PIB before everything the south already accept defeat and in their minds is "God knows best" Make una dey there. So tell me how wouldn't the North own almost 70-80% of oil wells in the south ![]() Do any southerners even know were the Zamfara gold mines is ?? I don't think so. Today just imagine it's the north that has the oil south is having. When ever there's tention from the both sides the next thing you will hear the North saying they will not transport food items to the South even their leaders some wil agree to that, but come to south you will never hear no one will drill oil. Why is it so ![]() |

I am perturbed by this PIB Bill and frankly speaking, Dim Chukwuemeka Ojukwu did a good job with the 13% derivation at the Aburi Accord than these present crop of leaders in the South-South. Can you imagine such nonsense.. 30% to go to all the frontier basins which are all in the North and these frontier basins are not economically viable than the host communities that has been sustaining the engine room of this country for decades since and before independence, despite the pollution and degradation of the environment, their own sons and daughters voted 3% to this absurd legislation. This is the worse legislation in the history of mankind anywhere in the world. And guess what, just over the weekend on Peoples Radio (voice of the Niger-Delta), a presenter brought this issue on board and not a single call was put through to comment throughout the program and the presenter has no choice than to play music throughout the time. And you will ask yourself, are the people of the Niger-Delta, especially in Bayelsa State, Delta State, Rivers State where the pollution is even worse aware of the implication of this bill. These are the same people that will not hesitate to rattle Ojukwu and the Igbo people but history will remember this noble act of cowardice of Elected Representatives selling out their people for a kettle of fish. |

Fuckyoumod:You see whether Igbo ever became president or not, other ethnic nationality can not continue to abuse Igbo both online and offline. It has become imperative for everyone to stand on his own. The least people to join the bandwagon in badmouthing the south east is the people of former eastern region when you know that you can hardly get anything from Nigeria without forming a coalition with your closest neighbour. Igbo should continue to ignore the south, enough of insult ! |

propaganda!! Propaganda!!! against the igbos and the yorubas, from foolanis/hausas) Igbo and Yoruba on nairaland shine your eyes, foolanis/Hausa will claim to be igbo just to insult and attack the yourubas and other tribes so that it will look as if igbo hate everyone,, same Hausa/foolanis Will claim to be Yoruba to insult and and attack the igbos. foolanis/hausa are only active on nairaland, they are no where to be find on Facebook, Twitter, or any international platform, Yoruba and igbo hear this and hear it clear nairaland is faceless platform which does not require much data to login, that's why they are many here, that's why nairaland is childish platform. Yoruba and igbo on nairaland come to Facebook, Twitter, or any international platform and see the real igbos and Yorubas unity. I may abuse the yorubas out of ignorance before when I thought the yorubas are behind all those hateful threat against the igbos not knowing that it was foolanis and hausas who pretended to be the yorubas,...nnamdi kanu recent arrest have opened igbos eyes to know their common enemy, they only people who are celebrating his arrest is Hausa/Fulani, we have realized this that's why you see first time in history all the southern governors meet in Lagos. All this we south south na them, all this we Niger delta na them, this foolanis hate the southern unity, their greatest fear is igbos, same foolanis attached themselves to Hausa, kanuri, and other tribes in the north, but here in the south they are trying everything humanly possible to divide them, tag everyone who is trying to unite the south attache by force, unity beggars, especially when igbos want to unite with their kit and kin outside s-east. |

olibeans:The Benue trough and Anambra basin are two oil exploratory frontiers in the SE. while the benue trough includes mostly the middle belt states, ebonyi and parts of other SE states falls into it. The Anambra basin is mostly made of SE territories with parts of kogi. And of all the frontier basins,it's the youngest and most auspicious. It already has an operational OML and if heavily invested into will yield massively. So the SE got a good deal out of this |
