okoolori: No sir. The blame attributed to the centre for everything, to the President for every wrong we see today will abate. More power means more responsibility and people will put pressure on their governors whom they elect without sentiment. |

Good job south western governors. This is what we have been clamoring for. Time to mean serious business. From the way things stand right now, SW is preparing for any breakup or restructuring. Time to be accountable 1 Like |

Beancounter93:That's a big lie...was there any referendum on that?...or you have turned to "people"?...Most states are not viable, but as regions just like before there will be healthy competition. Mind you,the states will still exist but under their various regions...For equity, there should be equal number of states. The regions should have the power to create LGAs. |

In reality they cannot implement it. Only Lagos and maybe Oyo and Ogun can implement them. Some of those states have not paid workers salary talk more of minimum wage implementation. And if implementated they may be worst than federal police. Better the devil you know than the Angels you don't know. 1 Like |

If they are really concerned about minimum wage, they can pass bills in the states to increase it, unless they are trying to reduce it. All this is about money, collecting tax has nothing to do with federal government, see Lagos state. This is just noise |

Baawahala: Have you seen a map of Nigeria? You people just keep going backwards. What you are proposing was done and the people of states advocated for their own states as the structure wasn’t benefiting them. One region like North West is the size of the entire South South and South East how can there be the same number of states? I swear una just dey come here open mouth like waaaahhhhh no critical thinking behind it |

Speaktruth88:Which region the size of what? Keep deceiving your self with land mass filled with mostly redundant population. Many LGAs created on the basis of land mass with only about 10 families...In the south mainly in SS and SE,you will see one LGA that is as large enough as 4LGAs in the North with optimum productivity while one large desert with few, largely unproductive and scattered human inhabitants is giving an LGA. |
