zinizta:This is silly. Every single African American is descended from Africans - mostly West African/Nigerian coastal tribes. I'm sure Michael Jordan or Magic Johnson's ancestors were Yoruba or Igbo or Bini or Efik or wherever. To say Kareem is Yoruba because his ancestors who were Yoruba arrived the Americas in the 18th century is stupid. He's American. Simple. Stop claiming nonsense. You already have Olajuwon to be proud of. |

Uchasa:No tribe dominates what.. It is all based on diligence and application I just stated facts to you Dominance or not Yorubas don't dominate boxing FYI |
| Re: D'Tigers Victory: Precious Achiuwa Is The Real MVP - Osinbajo by Obi1kenobi(m): 11:14pm On Jul 13, 2021 |
zinizta:I'm pretty certain Kareem Abdul Jabbar doesn't speak Yoruba and never even visited Yoruba land. He is not Yoruba in any meaningful way. Because a black American traces his ancestry to an African tribe (which is pretty much every black American in existence) does not make them members of that tribe. The point is obvious. You're trying to claim an American who was not in anyway moulded by Yoruba culture. |
| Re: D'Tigers Victory: Precious Achiuwa Is The Real MVP - Osinbajo by Uchasa(m): 11:20pm On Jul 13, 2021 |
zinizta:Your problem started with your inability to decipher the meaning of "dominate." Dominate in this context means having more players than others. No matter your stance, it won't change the fact that Igbos have more basketball players in the NBA and other basketball leagues than any other Nigerian ethnic group, just like Yorubas have more boxers and martial arts fighters in the UFC and other martial arts leagues in the world more than any Nigerian tribe. This is what we term "domination." |

7lives:Was osinbajo responsible for Lagos? Was he ever a governor? Do you know the state of anambra before Peter obi came in? An absolute mess. It was Peter obi that gave that state a direction. And they impeached him for refusing to approve a corrupt contract, which he later overruled in court. Let osibanjo go and govern a state and let us see how capable he is before comparing him to Peter obi. |

Obi1kenobi:You're very wrong So because I was born in Germany and can't speak Yoruba means I am not yoruba? Do you know that even some white people are Yoruba? Search Ibeyi on YouTube Besides the guy never said the NBA guys were "Yoruba" He said they have "Yoruba ascestry" Stop making your tribal bias show |

CSTRR:Bro, he doesn't need to govern a state, how we had a taste of his leadership as acting President is convincing enough to let him climb the top mantle. |
| Re: D'Tigers Victory: Precious Achiuwa Is The Real MVP - Osinbajo by CSTRR: 5:21am On Jul 14, 2021 |
TheRareGem1:The taste of his leadership? Like keeping quiet in the midst of gross misgovernance. Keeping quiet in the midst of inflation, high crime rate, insecurity, rising unemployment, rising social entropy. Look at what vice president Bawumia has done for Ghana in terms of policy creation and reforms. The year of return that he created has brought billions of dollars in tourism revenue and investments to Ghana and opened them to the world That is just a few of his reforms. And he did those in his first four years as vice president. Can you compare that to what your commissioner in Chief has done in 8 years? The man that likes giving nice speeches with minimal active impact. You must be a masochist. Hopefully, Nigerians are much smarter than you. |

CSTRR:Yes taste of governance while he was acting, still remain fresh in our memories. You can't even deny it. Yes, he's vice/ deputy and doesn't make things happen or call the shot unless duties delegated to him by his boss but when he was acting, c'mon you can't yank off that. Even opposition praised him. Ask Buhari to remain in London. When is time for truth, say it, it doesn't hurt. We know we have a docile P but he has the utmost power. Call the shot. |

TheRareGem1:The country has degenerated to shit while he is vice president and you are still making tasteless argument. He is vice president, the second most powerful in Nigeria right now, not some commoner. He has tremendous power. You don't have to wait for Buhari to stay in London before you can feel the impact of the vice president. I even gave you example of Bawumia of ghana. Even when Buhari was in London, what special thing did he do if you are honest with yourself? He is better than Buhari, I agree. But Buhari is a very low bar. Any fool can be better than Buhari. Being just better than Buhari is not enough to repair and redirect this highly dysfunctional country. SMh. |

zinizta:His own account says that ancestors were brought to the US from Trinidad by a slavemaster in the 18th century. 3 centuries ago. He didn't "move to the US as a child". Stop claiming nonsense with desperate attache-by-force. He is not Yoruba. And his saying that his ancestors were Yoruba does not mean he said that he is Yoruba. |
| Re: D'Tigers Victory: Precious Achiuwa Is The Real MVP - Osinbajo by Obi1kenobi(m): 7:45pm On Jul 14, 2021 |
theTranslator:That's your failure of comprehension cos I said nothing like that. Of course you would be Yoruba if your parents are Yoruba. That's very different from claiming that you're Yoruba because your ancestors from 3 centuries ago were Yoruba. Do you know that even some white people are Yoruba?I searched. They're Afro-Cubans. They're mixed race, and not "white" in any traditional conception of being white. And he didn't just say Kareem had Yoruba ancestry. He ridiculed a guy who said that Kareem is African American (a correct statement) and started misquoting a Kareem comment about his father's ancestors brought to America from Trinidad by a French planter. The only tribal bias is trying to claim an American as Yoruba who has never had anything to do with Yoruba culture in his life. |
