Is this a good sign?

Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 19 by Alchemist01: 7:14pm On Jul 14, 2021
When i am travelling to Canada, am I supposed to travel with a bank statement for proof of funds again? If yes, can I used the same one that I used during my study permit application or I need to go and collect the latest bank statement?

Note that I have already started classes and paid full tuition for spring/summer semester.

EmeeNaka:
No, not at all. Your Biometrics has been Validated. And your Medicals are still Valid. So, the only thing left is Eligibility Review and some Background checks.

Thank you very much.

Do you know if decisions for reapplications are faster than first applications?

The wait is quite something.
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 19 by maralina: 7:35pm On Jul 14, 2021
My work permit just got approved
And my Sister’s PPR just landed, she applied in March.
March 5th
Biometrics March 10th with upfront medicals

Double approval!!!!, I’m so excited
Canada is sweet but hard when you live alone with no family, it’s so depressing ngl. Wasn’t easy for me doing that for 4years. I have friends though but it’s different without family.
Now having my brother and sister coming over is what I’ve always dreamt of and I’m so happy my dreams came true.
My brother got approved in January: coming for bsc
My Sister got approved today: coming for masters
Thank you everyone for all the tips you give on here, it was really helpful. The land of maple will favour us all

Something might have caught their attention on the information you provided and also the documents you submitted, so your background check is on "close marking". Once they are done with that, your Eligibility should change back to "We are reviewing if you meet the Eligibility requirements". PEACE
EmeeNaka:
I just got a taste of ill luck today. Yesterday, I received a message that my Program at Hanson-Bramptom Campus for Cambrian College has suspended their Postgraduate Program for Fall,2021 and the school revoked my previous acceptance letter and issued new letter. The new letter is still the same thing with the previous in most things except the tuition fee which reduced by about 6000CAD and Internship hours reduced to 105hours from 300hours in previous and Campus which changed from Hanson-Bramptom to Sudbury Campus.
So I forwarded the new LOA through Webform and today,in less than 24hrs, I got an update, my Eligibility Review Changed From "We are reviewing if you meet the Eligibility requirements" to " Your Application is in progress, we will inform you when we begin your eligibility review".
So, it means my application has started afresh or what exactly does it mean?

Not correct... This means the Eligibility that has started before is on hold for now..... Peace

It means your eligibility has started.

Yes.. Eligibility passed
"Recommend passed" is not the same as "passed". It's certainly promising but the eligibility hasn't been finalized.
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 19 by makano: 7:48pm On Jul 14, 2021
You cant use the same SOA you used for your study permit application, if possible you will need to print out or have with you your latest SOA few days before you travel.... Peace

I don't think so.
It was "we are reviewing if you meet the Eligibility requirements".

But today it returns to "Your Application is in progress, we will inform you when we begin your eligibility review"

The review is still on, just that with a new update of documents, the assigned vo changed it to ''Your Application is in progress, we will inform you when we begin your eligibility review".

It will end in praise soonest.

Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 19 by makano: 8:16pm On Jul 14, 2021
So what will you say about February Applicants that have not even gotten Medical request... I want you all to understand one thing about IRCC, its not about the time you applied that determines when you will get your final decisions... Many factors determines this, but majorly it depends on applications and documents submitted i.e There are some applications that requires thorough screening from the VO based on the documents submitted and the information provided by applicants..

Another major Factor is the VO attending to the several applications.. All applications are spread across different Visa Officers ..As we all know all the VOs wont work in the same way, just like we have in our daily working environment where Worker A doesn't put in the same amount of work as Worker B or vice versa.. Also we all know that we have Junior VOs and Senior VOs, if an application is given to a Junior VO and he/she encounters something that requires him to escalate, he escalates to a senior VO...

For those of us that were very active on this thread during 2018-2020, we will remember the Lagos VOs were the fastest then, while 80% of the Nairobi VOs final decision were fast REFUSALS... So we should not make that mistake again, its not by when you applied but majorly by the documents you submitted and also the Visa officer handling your application..... Peace

My GCMS notes have not arrived. I haven't gotten any response to my email specifically. But I got an email today from Nairobi that my application is under active review da da da.
I've done everything I can do (except anyone has any other suggestions). Figured there's no point being worried about it.

EmeeNaka:
You said you were initially concerned? Are you not concerned anymore? Or have your GCMS notes answered your worry?

Okay dear

No boo you’re wrong, not all airlines passes through the US
BA goes through London
Turkish airlines: Istanbul
Lufthansa: Germany
Royal Air maroc: Morroco
Air France: Paris
KLM: Amsterdam

You don’t need transit visa for these

Only Delta I’ve seen that goes through the US
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 19 by Lianna2020: 8:38pm On Jul 14, 2021
You have to print out a new one though I wasn’t asked for any SOA at Poe.

Chai so many things they didn’t ask, wondering if they did and what I would have done because I had no idea I’m not suppose to go with a proof .

I guess it's faster, as some checks had been done in the previous application, so the concerned area will be scrutinized, and decision reached.
