Since its deregulation, the telecommunications in Nigeria has grown at an astounding rate. In the face of the tremendous growth in the sector, there have been mass complaints about the efficiency, cost effectiveness and integrity of its services to the consumer. These challenges have limited customer satisfaction which in turn is resulting in dissonance. This Forum is organized with the aim of evaluating the prevalent consumer issues ranging from high tariffs, high drop calls, poor customer services and lack of flexibility in consumer transactions. We hope to identify the causes and what the rights and responsibilities of the telecoms consumers are in these instances. The Forum will also create an avenue for consumers, service providers, regulators, legal and sector consultants to connect with a view to enlightening, empowering and resolving these issues as much as possible. Theme: Consumer Rights and Responsibilities in Telecoms Services Date: Tuesday 24 November, 2009 Time: 11.00 am-2.00 pm Venue: Lagos Television Hall 2, Lateef Jakande Road, Agidingbi Ikeja, Lagos Please endeavor to be there, also invite your friends and family who have had issues with their phones or internet!! it promises to be explosive!! be there!!!! |

good one One of the issues to be discussed should be 'Flooding of Consumers Inboxes With SPAM SMS By GSM Operators'. If not spam sms, what else can you call it, they will send you UNWANTED sms asking you to text to win some amount of money. This activity to me is a FRAUD because its not different from the ones commited on the internet, they indirectly milk you of your hard earned credit. solutions: 1. They should give thier customer the privilege to discontinue recieving related sms. 2. They should stop it totally. |
