Are policemen ever queried or sanctioned about their response time to events such as this? Why would you be paying salaries to people without giving them a minimum expectation benchmark? I think the police needs reform. If the commissioner of police in the state knows that his job will be on the line , likewise the area commander and the DPO, all of them will sit up and command their troops to deliver efficiently but the top echelon are only interested in bottom up dividend of bribery and corruption.
Let us begin to hold the policemen accountable for any security breach in their respective domains

Very unfortunate. This crime is similar to that of bandits and kidnappers. But Northerners think it is 'transactional business'. Hence, they prefer to be 'negotiating' with them every time, instead of dealing with them. May the Lord heal every part of this nation.

A very brilliant radio presenter he was, I used to listen to him presenting sport and other activities on Adaba and later Orange f.m during my university days in FUTA Ondo state. The only crime he committed was being a Nigerian living in Nigeria. May God console his family.

Because no actual forensics will be carried out anyways. The police themselves will arrive after 4 hours with newspeople to trample over the scene, after which the state government will order cleaners to clean it up just like the lekki tollgate.
