There are couple of things we can deduce from this event that took place.

Infiltration of bandits operational network haven't been achieved because there is heavy dependence on air force for intelligence gathering. This is done mostly from air

Also the bandits capabilities is increasing because for them to be able to hit the jet

it means they utilize surface to air missile which have the capability via heat sensor to break through the safety region jet fighters operate within when engaging ground enemies.

If the latter stands true then the challenge is taking another dynamics because further acquisition of such weapons would mean the bandits would be able to create a killzone.

A kill zone from air perspective is when bandits operates on higher ground such as rocky areas to gain a vantage point on any fighter jet or gunship aircraft.

So a false flag is initiated to draw the ground troops into a combat scene, knowing fully well there would be air support. When the air support shows up they will go for the kill.

The one efficient way jets can maneuver such surface to air missile is the use of gravity. That is heading into high altitudes to gas out the missiles.

More must be done to counter the move of such weapons into Nigeria.

There are very few in the black market and in very high demand. So the counterintellige unit of the army can deduce who's meeting meeting to make sales.
