Hi

I’ve read a little about this. Vaccinated ppl don’t need to do hotel stopover. They only need to present a quarantine plan for 14 days. This may be in an Airbnb, hotel, or apartment with single or separate occupancy.

I stand to be corrected but this is the information I got from watching several youtube videos of vaccinated ppl traveling after the new policy.

Also, once you’re exempted, you can inform the hotel of quarantine of your status and request a refund if you wish to proceed to other locations.

amr12:

The fully vaccination stuff is still confusing. Based on what I read on canada website, if you are fully vaccinated you still need to make arrangements to book hotel for 3 night before departing your country.

Entry requirements for the fully vaccinated exemption
Fully vaccinated travellers must follow the entry requirements:

Pre-entry test required
Quarantine plan in case you don’t get the exemption
Arrival test
Requirements checklist

Quarantine plan in case you don’t get the exemption
Final determination of whether or not you qualify for the exemption is made by a government representative at the border.

You must therefore be prepared to quarantine for 14 days, in case you:

are symptomatic
don’t meet the requirements

I need more clarification please

Today is a public holiday in Kenya. Would that affect the operations of IRCC Nairobi for the day?

I don't think it's entirely true that you take your second dose where you had your first. As long as it's the second dose and you are with your card, you can have the second dose anywhere its being administered. In fact some doses can be mixed. You take astrazeneca first dose and another type second dose but we only have astrazeneca in Nigeria.

Lekiboboe:

Yes I understand

I won't be able to meet up with the 2nd dose, reasons why I decided not to take the vaccine in Nigeria (the 6weeks interval before taking the 2nd dose and the 14 days wait before travelling) & it is said that your 1st & 2nd dose must be taken at same location.

From the post in the link above it says;

Eliminating the 3-night government-authorized hotel stay requirement for all air travellers arriving after 12:01 a.m. EDT on August 9, 2021. Until that time, non-vaccinated travellers flying to Canada must complete their 3-night hotel stay while they wait for their on-arrival test results
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 19 by Lekiboboe: 8:58am On Jul 20, 2021
Non-Vaccinated travellers do not need to do the mandatory 3-days hotel quarantine anymore starting from AUGUST 9, 2021 BUT must have a 14-days Quarantine plan preferably in an Airbnb, hotel, or apartment with single or separate occupancy

Funny thing was that I drafted my testimony and timeline yesterday evening and behold it became a reality!
To my big nairaland family!! Thank y’all
Cheiii what’d I do without y’all.. y’all have been very supportive and it’s well acknowledged!

Here’s my timeline:
Used the same agent for the first two applications which were eventually refused.

1st application;
Submitted: November 27th 2019
Biometrics: December 1st 2019
Refusal letter: January 27th 2020
- based on (purpose of visit, family ties)

Second application;
Submitted: May 18th 2020
Refusal: September 30th 2020
- based on ( Family ties)
(Employment prospect)
(personal assets and financial status)

At this point I was heart broken to the core because most Monikers in my batch have already moved to Canada.. it was depressing.
So I just took a looonnggggg break!!!! And decided to refire!!

Third and final application;
Submitted: March 23rd 2021
I didn’t get NSE req cause I submitted everything at once
Medicals done: April 21st 2021
Medicals passed: May 14th 2021
When I went redo my medicals in April because the last one done in 2019 had already expired.. I met someone that I saw in 2019 who works there and surprisingly he recognized me and asked what I’m doing here cheesy
I said for medicals oo grin he laughed and told me not to come back here again and when I was going back home he said; who laughs last laughs best .. I really felt that honestly
