There was never a time an Igbo man considered Ikwerre Igbo. It was the white man who erroneously group the two distinct ethnic group as one. Here in Rivers Etche people are seen same as the Ikwerre people. We didn't because of size and annex Etche. We made it clear that Etche is not Ikwerre despite speaking similar language with the Ikwerre people.
As per Ikwerre Bini connection I for one have never reasoned along that line. Though there are some parts of Ikwerre that speak like the Bini people especially Ikwerre of Ikwerre and Emuoha LGA
Dont accept what is not yours. It was for the ease of governance that the white men classified different people as one like they did in Nigeria.

Pls dont be a slowpoke, its very irritating. There is no part of rivers state that speak like bini people. The Bini people have their own very separate langauge, customs n traditions and names, they have zero connection whatsoever with any tribe in rivers.

Olaudah Equiano an IGBO slave wrote his memoirs in 1700s and clearly stated that he was IGBO, He wrote this book long before the white men came into Nigeria in the 1800s. White people didnt name us IGBOs, We named ourselves IGBOs

Check my post and highlight anywhere I claimed Bini. I am Ikwerre not Bini. I have a separate identity and I am no other tribe or ethnic group other than Ikwerre. You are making the mistake of the white people.
No doubt we may belong to the same language group but we are distinct. Our traditions grossly differ and even if they are similar have you forgotten that there was a time you were the colonial master in Ikwerre land. Do you know we're been thought in school and compulsorily to speak and write in Igbo? It was a big offense then to communicate in Ikwerre. Those who know the Ikwerre man right from time know we are not Igbos. The Kalabari man, the Ogoni man and even the Okrika man would have said so. We are close by with similar language it wouldn't be a surprise that our ways are the same. But truly we are not Igbos. You guys should accept this.
Those who contest election in your union do so for several reasons. We still have the vestiges of Aro descendants in Ikwerre land. They have no problem with being seen as Igbos.

Are 100% igbo states when in reality, it is not. You have non-igbos in those states eg the likes of igalas, ibibios, ijaws and so on.

Yep, the places u mentioned have non-igbos there, BUT THE FACT IS THAT THE NAMES OF THE VILLAGES THEY LIVE IN ARE IN IGBO LANGUAGE, Their names are equally IGBO names(this clearly gives them away as settlers). If u have any info contrary to this, present it immediately



NB - There is nothing like ijaw in any part of IGBO land.



But in the places in ur land, u find people answering IGBO names, speaking IGBO language and the names of their community is in IGBO language.

Go figure.
