I read through all the points and as an employer, I can tell you that number 3 is the only point that works for Nigerians. I had a staff that started work and in two days, she took a permission to attend a birthday..yes you heard me. I thought maybe the birthday was very important and I let it slide...but before the next 30 days, this lady has missed work for 5 days with silly excuses. So for her 2nd month, I told her I can only continue with her if she will sign an undertaking that will permit me to deduct 3k from her salary for each day she didn't come to work... She accepted and signed the undertaking...believe me, she didn't miss work again till we parted ways. 32 Likes 1 Share |

If you are in tech space there's nothing super fantastic in the office that your staff most come there everyday, simply install wakatime on there laptops and you all agree on hour many hours of code they are to turn in daily, a 4 to 5 hours of code per day is far more than enough for a productive day It's working in my office, if you like don't come for a century, so far your wakatime vscode plug-in or any other IDE you are using is reading you are good to go 9 Likes |

...Below are the commonest reasons employees absent themselves from work too frequently Are the common reasons the "real" reasons? Many employees skip work because they're looking for work elsewhere. They're attending interviews, taking tests, and so on. This is the same reason many take forever when you send them on basic errands. When you ask why they took so long, they say "hold up". Nigerian employers, pay your employees well. They have mouths to feed too and want the good things life has to offer. We know you suffered to "start your business" and have kids in school. Your employees are in similar situations too. Appreciate labor and Pay well. No one is an enemy of money. 7 Likes 1 Share |

Your points are good.. but one other solution is the electronic system of attendance marking where by finger prints of those present is captured in a data base. With this you can't cheat an employee and an employer can't cheat you. But the system is now being abused by some individuals who call themselves supervisors. You were not present at work, you will go and tell the time keeper to mark you present. Who does that. This is what foreign companies are using.. Apart from other facts like sickness, transport money, some people skip work deliberately knowing fully well that even if they are not present, their subordinate will do their work, there by making the work load of whoever is on shift more.. |
