We shouldn’t get hyper because they scored and won Nk Olympija women by a lone goal scored by Oparanozie.

The team is full of talents and has great potentials but has seriously under performed…that’s why we have Zambia Shipolopolo at Tokyo disgracing Africa at the Olympics. Falcons need to raise their game. They have struggled terribly against teams like Ghana, South Africa and most recently Cameroun.

This is so disheartening. Every governing body in Nigeria is filled with corrupt miscreants frustrating the stakeholders. What's bad in demanding allowance. Politics is ruining our sports everyday. Given the right environment our falcons could best any other team in the world. I'm very sad right now.













1) Some NFF officials wanted to pick the players and the coach refused, so he didn't coach the team for that qualifying series against Ivory Coast. We used an acting coach for the qualifying series. The main coach, Thomas Dennerby, eventually left the team because he refused to allow anyone else to select the players. Some NFF officials wanted to punish some players by freezing them out of the team.

2) As I said, some NFF officials wanted to freeze some players out of the team because they protested that the NFF did not want to pay some players their allowance. Desire Oparanozie , who was the captain at the time, was one of the players that was frozen out.

3) Many of our foreign based stars did not play in that series. If I remember correctly, it was just Asisat Oshoala and Francisca Ordega that were our major players that played in that series.

Therefore we lost (0-0 in Abidjan and 1-1 in Lagos. We lost on away goals rule).

This is Desire Oparanozie's first match back in the Super Falcons since the NFF effectively banned her from the team in 2019 because, as captain, she demanded that the NFF should pay all the players their allowances. She had to write a letter of apology before the NFF allowed her back into the team.
