HELLO House.
I’m new here.
So I just turned 31, Very single, no direct relatives in Canada, One B.Sc , 6years self employed/ Business experience in the NOC 0 skilled workers. Do I qualify for EE or PNP? I want to leave Nigeria for Canada and from by CRS calculation, I am below 400 points. I plan on writing my IELTS in October and November. I have started the WES process with my school. I plan to get all my documents ready before I create an EE profile. With my scores below 400, SINP is looking like my best bet into Canada but I’m conflicted as I would prefer Alberta.
Can I do the Saskatchewan INP? I hear Regina is a lonely area but Can I manage to live there, get my Citizenship and move to another city? Or if I go the SINP route, will I be stuck in Regina or SK province for the rest of my Canadian life?

Hello guys,

Can 2 BSC’s be evaluated as 2 or more degrees? Asking for a friend. He has a BSC degree in International relations and Human resource management.
Will appreciate your feedback.

Yes

My advice: Don't count your eggs before they are hatched. With no direct relatives in Saskatchewan, no masters degree, less than 10 years experience, SINP chances are quite low are at the moment. If your skill is in demand in Alberta, you just might get lucky and be selected.
Another option you should explore is the study route. It's about the surest way to Canada PR now, if you are able to get a study visa.

Thank you for your response.
I have weighed the option of Studying in Canada but the cost is high. I am looking at the option of starting an Online MBA with the London Metropolitan School of Business and Management because I read that WES approves it.
Also I see that 4500 persons who applied for the EE- CEC were given ITA with CRA score of 357 but my CRS calculation is above that. What do you suggest in this case? Do I just apply with what I’ve got and hope for the best?

The CEC is different. The CEC stream is for those who have studied and worked in Canada. They are being prioritised now, hence the low CRS. The last draw for outlanders was 468 and that was in December 2020. Before that time scores were in the range of 470-478

You can move after you get citizenship.

Thank you for the clarification. I appreciate.
Do you suggest I give myself 2-3years in Nigeria, get work experience, get my Masters and maybe PhD (All online as I want Foreign degrees) and then start the Canadian PR process? I will be 34 in 3years so would still within the age score. Is that a good plan?
Canada is supposed to be a fresh start for me, quite bombed it won’t be sooner.

You lose more points if you wait that long. Making your chances more difficult. There are short certifications you can get within 2/3months that can add up in place of masters/PhD to increase your CRS.
ACCA foundation courses, CIMA... Check underneath for our contact for more info on study resources, exam center nearest to you

you can do that but also note that immigration policies change. No one knows what will happen in 3 or 4 years from now.
Like i said earlier, the study route is a sure path to PR at least for now. But if funds are a contraint, look into other countries' immigration options. Have a plan B and even C.

The United Kingdom now has a point based work visa immigration system. There’s also one where you don’t need a job offer to qualify. Omo this one sweet me die. We can expect Canada’s express entry to remain the same or get easier. Canada’s main aim is to stay competitive and attract the best talent from all over the globe. They were starting to feel themselves a little too much because people had no other options. Lmaoo Mendicino and Trudeau better think properly before implementing stupid policies. The other countries are wising up. Before you know it, the UK and other difficult countries will start giving out PR too. It’s only a matter of time. P.S I once saw an article where they said the point based system that Canada now uses originally belongs to the United States. It just never passed through the senate to be approved or something like that.

Please do you have a link so that I can read up about the UK's work visa?

Try here https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/uk-points-based-immigration-system-further-details-statement/uk-points-based-immigration-system-further-details-statement

Perhaps there is another program sha.

And even for this one, depending on industry (e.g. healthcare), some people do get job offers.

Whatever you plan to do, do it quick. Do not think EE will be for long and policies can also change anytime.

I would advise:
1) you start learning French, apart from adding to your CRS, it opens you up to more PNPs
2) you don't worry too much about the province, since you can move once you've got citizenship as already explained
3) you study hard for IELTS and get CLB10
4) you do one of the short courses already suggested to get 2 or more degrees.
5) read, study & digest page 1 and all the IRCC links there

Try researching this global route option. I found this one on the website too and it says it’s a 5 year visa you can extend. It also says you can apply to remain permanently in the U.K after 3 or 5 years.

I believe express entry is here to stay for a very very long time. They might just tweak a few things about but it’s here to stay. Why would they want to change a system that is clearly working and that is one of the best in the world? I read an annual report IRCC made last year about express entry. They noted that almost all the applicants through express entry integrate well into society and get good paying jobs. They noted that overall, express entry candidates are doing better than non express entry immigrants

Offer of a job is mandatory and NOT tradable, except through the UK Talent stream (Global Talent Route), which is extremely difficult!

About French, I recently downloaded the Duolingo App from a suggestion I read last month on this thread and I’m learning so I’ll see how that goes.
All the points noted. I will do as I’ve been advised.
