Apply for internships in top law firms. Some are unpaid, some pay a token. It helps to broaden your horizon and have an idea of how practice works.

Most internship only use you to make tea, buy food, and run errands.

Tell them not to be sending Interns on stupid errands. We are not slaves.

Go and buy corn, go and buy food , go and wash plate.

Just because you're fortunate to learn a skill during your internship program. Which landed you a banking job. Does mean everyone will be lucky. E be like say you never work like jack@ss before. Na why . Always speak about the good and bad side. Don't favour one side.

My advices for interns. Don't kill yourself nor drain your mental and physical health. Just work smart, speak up if you're not treated fairly. Cause some bosses are ev!l. They will work you off.

A lot of people who did well during their days are working around the street. Cause no job, the connection na scam, skill didn't favour them .
I've seen men who graduated way back 07",08". Everybody dey street dey survive. No job.

This world is hard my Friend. You must know the truth. No allow anybody jonz say e go better just like that. Especially, when they say do this and that. And don't be decived that marriage will solve off 80% of your problem.

My advice be independent before you venture into marriage.

Well I am still in my first year tho, studying Mechanical Engineering.

I am planning to make judicious use of my holiday after exams, please my question is can anyone suggest where i can get practical skills regarding my course of study and what should I learn also? I think this is related to the I.T stuff

I am open to suggestions and learning. Thanks.

Right now; I'm still available & ready to learn more computer training & online business.

Pls take Industrial Training serious.

I believe the OP is one of the hardworking and fortunate one who gained from Industrial training. He has right to his opinion.

However, not all were fortunate enough to get placement to where they can really learn. These days to get placement for students is very difficult despite the fact that they have to suffer through the period.

During my school days, I was also fortunate to get a placement in a federal ministry. I gained financially in exchange for self development because there was nothing practical to learn, that is, nothing different from the theory I was taught in school and we didn't have much time to learn other things. Shey packing of financial documents Nah skills to learn ni?

Nowadays, they will use you to the extent you start questioning your sanity. I looked at some Boys having their Industrial training at one Govenment Hospital in Ibadan and the only thing I could say was, may the Good Lord save them. Them dey suffer abeg, in fact that kind sufferness no fit allow them learn any single thing.


OP, yes you (just as some of us) have been there, but we are no more there and the stories have changed.

Boy, do not wait till your holiday time before learning skills. Before next week, kindly check your school Aluta market to check on someone who knows graphics designing very well and start immediately. Ohhh Your course is tough right? I don't care (you will know why in my next paragraph), just start with every seriousness and never, I repeat, never let your class time to take a minute out of the time you will use for skill learning.

You know why? My kid bro graduated from the same course as yours with a first. He works with arguably the highest paying firm in Nigeria and his department is being managed by an Indian. You know how those people see Nigerian, Right? Last month he told me like 4 of his friends left to fully face their IT career and he is also considering doing so, all thanks to the fact that they used their school days to learn IT (All of them are good programers with other IT skills). If they had not learn those skills then but faced his course full time, they will not have option. And I know so many who studied your course (and even with good connection) that IT is saving their days.


Read for your course and pass your exams but take skill acquisition more serious, e get why.
