TheEnygma: One of my relations entered university at a 'late' age, and graduated with a first class . One of my uncles had to change course, and ended up graduating with a degree in a course he did not start with at 33...which since then has proven lucrative for him in life. Don't bash yourself. envoymedia: Our education system seems to be built to frustrates great minds of highly skilled and young brains. Or what would you have me say, if such a young talented mind was denied admission owing to her being 'underaged?' Do our academic professors now elevates age over knowledge and qualifications in considering the factors that earns one admission into our higher institution of learning? Who knows? Maybe had she been admitted, she would have still been in her prime in session due to incessant disruption of the system, as a result of industrial action. envoymedia: Had the parents a religious fanatic who doesn't believe in 'girl child education', she would have been married out or used as a commodity for profits. But no! Against all odds, her parents having seen what our system could do and with a clear understanding of the frustration she would have gone through, sought for help from a more tolerable and education-friendly environment where all her young dynamic brains was adequately enhanced for the good of humanity. Suffice it to say that most of the students who were admitted the same year as she was are still in school in Nigeria here. But because of the action of the parents, we are celebrating her now. I graduated a few months to my 26th birthday but got employed almost immediately after my nysc without any human influence. No be for mouth, I don meet the world number one president in US. Those who graduated much earlier than myself can't raise shoulders with me today. All thanks to baba God. Let good and inspiring words come out of your mouth always because there's power in the word you speak. Please don't join them in saying this life no balance again.
