Three quarters of the European war was fought in the East. The largest tank battle (Kursk), the costliest siege (Leningrad) the most casualties took place in the East. Russia saved Europe, and especially saved Britain, by distracting Hitler. For your information, Germany was not as helpless as people make her to be. Hungary, Czechoslovakia, Austria, Romania, Yugoslavia, Romania, Norway, Sweden, Finland, Italy France, Greece, Spain etc.. Were either under German rule or her allies, so Germany had men and resources trooping in. Stalin stopped Hitler, not the Americans, the war in the East was a special kind, it was not a war of conquest, it was a war of annihilation, hence fought with unreal brutality. Truth be told, there is no way China can match U.S. in terms of military power, U.S. I more of offensive force while China is more of defensive.
Beside China live using propaganda to make a point, and can't risk the fall out of war.
If their hope of defeating U.S. is based on their atomic bomb, then they do get wipe out pretty sooner than later.
When it comes to using conventional weaponry, China is no where close to U.S. they are just being lousy and bully to their small neighbours. Can you please provide facts and data to these statements? You are partially right but like others equally wrong. Germany was defeated by ALL its enemies, the enemies it multiplied for itself by seeking to expand too rapidly and tearing up agreements and peace accords it held first with Britain and then Russia and then China. It made enemies with too many nations at the same time. Now the summary is this: Before 1941, Germany had the largest Air force which it used effectively in the invasions of Poland, the Low countries of Holland and Belgium, then the Nordics, south Europe before reaching the coast of France. It then struck out across the Channel with its air force to cripple UK defences before the invasion but lost more or less its entire air capacity in that invasion and abandoned thaise plans turning instead east to attack Russia with the aim of capturing the southern oil fields and mineral resources of the inner Caucasus. This is where it lost the war. It had no air force to back up its armoured invasion the way it did in wester Europe leaving its army to fight a much superior number and resourced Russian land force which had concentrated west once Japan failed in the attack their eastern flank thus and betraying Hitler's plan to divide Russia's armies. So you can say that without the UK destroying Germany's Air force and Russia destroying the bulk of Germany's Armoured forces, the war will not have been won. In the end all the allied forces contributed to Hitler's fall wit the dictator himself shooting himself in the foot by poor strategic decisions. No one country alone could have successfully taken on the German military as at 1941. 2 Likes |
