I don't think it's autism , what you described here is a late starter, my son displayed the same symptoms and today he is studying to become an actor. To confirm a child is autistic there are advance medical tests to be done also, npbeing autistic is very hard to deal with and emotionally draining. It takes a lot of work, energy and time. If the child is throughly autistic, you in for a life time commitment but the good news is autistic people are gifted in some areas, you just need to discover it and help the child the best way you can
