So I duno if it’s allowed here but I don’t intend to break the rules.

I felt I can share what I gained. I recently listened to an Instagram live discussion on KSA’s page with an ex-VO, Annie who is now an immigration consultant.

It was helpful as I was able to see through the eyes of a typical visa officer. Even though their views may vary as everyone is different. it was insightful hearing from the other side and what she generally thinks about the high visa refusals from Nigeria.

See link if you wish to watch and if the link is not accessible, go to KSAs page and search for the interview he had with Anie.
Very helpful

Tnx a lot @Omiinii
I'll do what u said.
Tnx again.
Right now, I'm in Anambra.
How and where do I register my mum's business?

Omiinii:
It will be difficult to convince the VO WITHOUT a CAC documents to prove his business is verified and registered I think it's your only option right now. Registration costs 15k I don't think it's really a big deal and you'll get the certificate in a week or 2 max.
Apart from what I've stated above with i feel is a requirement that will solidify your claim you can also get other proves:
1.Receipt and business invoice of sales.
2. A website that advertises the nature of the business and services provided.
3. A customer's reference letter. (Preferably with a company's letter head)
5. Pictures of goods and merchandise. To help the VO grasp the nature of the business.

Hello the gurus, @lekibobo, @shupy, @frankborn, @justmellow and everyone else.

My younger brother's application was refused on the first week of June based on purpose of visit and personalasset and financial status, second application.

I got the notes and I need everyone's help on it because I want to get it right this time around.

Brief info about his profile:
Had OND in Architecture.

Had a diploma certificate in desktop publishing from a training centre

Working as a Customer Care Officer at Globacom.

24 years of age, going for BSC in computer science.

NB: CAC certificate was submitted as proof of source of income.

First you chose the wrong course. If he had a bsc, hr is meant to be going for an advanced diploma in Architect not a bsc. Like the vo rightly stated, customer care isnt related and if I was the one, I wouldnt mention it.

He is 24yrs and possibly above the age for a bsc.

Did he include his own bank statement?

Good CAC was attached but I feel other docs like receipts or contracts done could also serve as proof of funds.

The bank statement was scanned poorly.

PLEASE TREAT AS URGENT

IRCC just messaged me and told me that I have a debt of 235 dollars.

that I need to pay this before they continue with my application.

how do I approach this?

what do I do?

Gurus please I need your counsel...does calling someone in Canada to quickly pay affect my application in anyway?

NB I used an agent when I applying.... He made the payments.

The agent got a chargeback. All you need to do is draft an explanation to what happened and make this repayment YOURSELF!!!

Then what you need to do is pursue an advanced diploma or PGD in a computer science related field. Please your work experience should be in IT. Do not show that customer care again.

The vo had issues with this, yes he did a diploma in computer science course but no work experience in the intended course.

Try this

Please Gurus in the house, I'm a newbie in here so if it isn't too hefty to ask, do you mind sharing the proper format for SOP, Canadian CV and Cover Letter? I could be reached on; j t e d d y 6 6 at y a h o o dot c o m.

Thanks in advance
Abimbola15:
The reason for my previous refusals were:

1st application refusal : I applied with my sister, we had same sponsor, same course we were admitted to study, infact same everything. She got it and I didnt and it came as a shock to me. Requested my gcms notes and they mentioned financials and employment. The financials was that my source of funding wasnt clear because my brother who is young basically inherited money and property from my dad and the VO wasnt quite convinced of this source of funding. Then i was unemployed at the time so my employment was a problem.

2nd application refusal was almost same as the first but they added language abilities to the reason.

How I was able to tackle the refusals: I had to really change my SOP. State my source of funding clearly, made my sponsor also state it very well in his letter. Attached relevant documents. Added an affidavit. Added my IELTS to tackle the language abilities and wrote well about it in my SOP. I would say that the only difference between my two previous applications and the third is that I really reworked my SOP to explain every single detail again. In terms of documents, nothing really changed between applications.

Wow! Congratulations to you.

Hello Guys!

Came to share my testimony here. Visa was rejected twice and approved on my third visa application.

Started this journey in 2020.

1st application: April 23, 2020.
Rejected September 23rd, 2020.
2nd application: November 23rd , 2020.
Rejected March 10th, 2021.

3rd application: March 26th, 2021.
Medical request July 12th 2021.
Passport Request 29th July, 2021.

The journey was frustrating and tbh I had already given up and started looking into visa applications to other countries. You really need alot of patience to endure all of this. If you find yourself in a similar situation please request your gcms notes and really tackle the issues.

Really grateful to God and I wish everyone the best!

There is nothing bad in this, but you must have a convincing explanation in the SOP for doing this.

My personal opinion is that there are numerous loopholes to cover, let the PA defer the admission till next year. You have to tidy up the financial aspect and build up a proper profile for the intended course.

Find an accredited certification IT centre i.e NIIT or New Horizon. Let the PA enrol for a short duration relevant IT programming there (like 3 months or 6 months). This will not only help the PA for visa but will also ease his integration to the course when he is in Canada. You can also try to secure a remote computer science internship for the PA.

Ohh, really, you mean that

Company can sponsor? If i no longer use my dad, and uses company, will that be okay and sound genuine to the VO?

I had to stop the company sponsorship bcs i heard it won't show much prove, that i have to have strong reason, for them investing such huge money on me, all on knowledge, but parents is still very understandable.
Proof of funds is not just about showing the bulky money, it's about the accessibility. How accessible would the funds be if u using company, this is what you need to emphasize on in your sop...

If u wanna use company, id suggest that you show commitment by paying first year fees..

Your company can, with strong letter to back it up, however you might need to tender the company account details...IMO

The size is below 2mb. It doesn’t even let me go passed the information page right now, and the first time when it passed, after selecting the file it didn’t upload. Been stuck on this for 1 whole day.

I’m considering sending the webform to ircc uk, but I’m confused if they’ll forward to Nairobi where my application is.

13th July: Received GCMS note for the first refusal and sent a follow-up letter to IRCC on July 14th

31st July: PPR and BVL
Many thanks to my friends Ijeanwuli, Oluwayemisi0507, and of course Boss Frankrobbn who took out their time to review my LOE and follow-up letter. And as many as those that are expecting their testimony, God will perfect it IJN, Amen.
PS: I’ll be dropping my checklist soon in case someone needs that info.

Congrats... You will be favoured ijn

Wow
The journey to my application getting approved was exactly 6 months. 6 long stressful months.
When I submitted my application, I didn't understand much about the process. I didn't even click yes when asked if I would require a medical exam lol.

My timeline:
Submitted application - January 29th
Biometrics done - February 9th
NSE request sent - February 26th
Biometrics updated - February 29th
Sent IELTS and mbs - February 29th
IRCC received - March 9

From here on there was total silence and I began to worry a lot but I didn't know who or where to make enquiries.
When I came to this thread in April, I was very scared that my application would be refused because I saw a lot of mistakes I made but I became very proactive after I had gotten enough info.

Proof of funds wasn't a problem as my dad was my sponsor and I had been awarded a scholarship by my school (University of Toronto)

It was from this thread I learnt one could do upfront medicals. Eventually, I was sent a medical request on June 4th and I went for it on June 21st. It was updated to passed a week later after I uploaded the e-medical form given to me.

Another long wait began and I kept hoping as I was seeing stories of people getting their PPR a week after their medical.
I considered sending mails to MPs, webforms but I thought against it,. I saw people getting PPRs after ordering for their GCMS so I ordered mine on the 19th of July.

I saw a ghost update at 1am on the 29th and by 1pm I received an email from IRCC.
Finally I can rest smiley

Documents submitted:
- IMM1294
- IMM5645
- IMM5257
- Birth Certificate
- Passport
- Admission letter and Scholarship letter
- Bank Statements of my dad's account
- Digital Photo
- IELTS
- Custodianship Form

Finally I would like to thank people on this thread who answered all my questions no matter how seemingly stupid they were.
It has finally ended in good news.
