Puma To Sue AFN Over Breach Of Contract by Nemere2020: 4:11pm On Aug 05, 2021
Sunday Adeleye, the technical director of the factional Athletics Federation of Nigeria (AFN) board, says Puma, the German sportswear company, will sue the body to court for breach of contract.

The sportswear company on Wednesday terminated the 4-year kits sponsorship contract with the federation, citing the failure of Nigerian athletes’ to wear the brand at the ongoing Tokyo Olympics.

Speaking on Arise TV on Thursday, Adeleye said Puma have been “sending documents from their legal department” adding that the company “will go to court.”

“The contract is a non-disclosure one. It is between PUMA and AFN with FMYSD’s permission. We warned that this may lead to litigation and wrote to all parties involved, including finance and justice ministries,” he said.

“We are sure that PUMA will go to court on this matter. Their officials have called that they are sending documents from their legal department. We wrote the minister on the implications for Nigeria. This won’t make other companies deal with Nigeria.”

Buhari govt keeps Costing us punitive fines as they can't respect any contract ...How can somebody offer you 2.7 million dollars cash , prize money for your athletes and free kit but yet you decide to breach the contract because you want to engage an over inflated contract to fake sports wear company that imports low quality generic sports wears and rebadges them ..to make matters worse AFA was only able to provide one wear per athletes something that has never happened to any team in the Olympics before ....I expect Buhari to have sacked the sports minister over this gaffe and overall poor organization toward this Olympics..it's a miracle team Nigeria has even seen 2 surprise medals

When Bubu was campaigning he emphasises on fighting corruption. He promised to tackle corruption at all levels. Corruption under Bubu is massive and uncontrollable. Only God knows how we end up in this directionless country, other countries are achieving great things but we are here paralysed because of buffoons who are milking the country.

when you put people in charge of important positions as rewards for service during elections, what you get is entitlement, irresponsibility, incompetence and all round embarassment. Eductaed southerners that schooled abroad and less than 35 years should man 98% of public posts in Nigeria. You cant run a government on the backs of Abu Zaria and Kaduna polytechnic graduates who have the mentality that they are in office "for their turn", not because they have the capability to deliver.

It's like the minister is happy that the contract has been terminated since he wants Gusau who was responsible for the criminal diversion and has deliberately refuse to release details of testing to athletes to ensure that Nigeria fails in the Olympics get tried for fraud.

Nigerian government officials are so shameless and corrupt that they have taken their corruption to Asia (international).

Puma offered FREE sports kits and equipments and huge cash prizes to the Nigerian athletes in Tokyo Japan but the corrupt and fraudulent sports officials rejected them because they have already prepared a
fraudulent humongous budget where they can easily steal from.

The sports officials rejected the FREE offer from Puma because there was no provision for them to steal from it grin

Accepting the free kits would have spoilt their corrupt intentions and saved some taxpayers money.

The fact that the sports officials still have their jobs intact shows how useless the Buhari government is when it comes to corruption.

Imagine Puma wasting resources in making those kits and it was rejected by Nigerian officials because of their selfish intentions. They should sue them all including their fathers.

The Sunday Darey led Sports ministry is the most shamelessly corrupt in the history of the country.

Rumour has it that the nigga is currently siphoning funds for his governorship ambitions in oyo state.

Imagine the good people of Oyo state going from a seyi Makinde to a corrupt Sunday Darey...

Okay from what I understand about this..

1. Mr A got the contract for Nigeria

2. Mr B is unhappy that the details of the contract was not released to him and now insisted that Puma won't be used...

is that what happened?
