For now, I rate Madison more than Willock definitely... but for the records.. both scored the same amount of goals last season, but Willock started in much fewer games than Maddison. We have no idea what we will get next season.

Anyway, it's Arteta's call. He will get the biggest stick if things go wrong.

This Martinez regret story again? I thought it was common knowledge Martinez wanted to leave ; it’s either he’s made the number 1 keeper or he leaves especially after his heroic showings in Leno’s absence . The club was sure not going to sell Leno for him cos it’s not like Leno was some Joe hart or Kepa kinda keeper but a very good keeper at that time. Arsenal’s woes last season has nothing to do with the keeper we sold( if u doubt this , go and check the number of errors leading to goal done by both keepers last season at their respective clubs , it was both the same 1) .

We fans just get overtly emotional seeing Martinez racking up clean sheets upon clean sheets at Villa , but we are not looking at how balanced that Villa team had become ..... them Tyron Mings , cash and other players did well last season while arsenal players didn’t get their mojo.

As regards Willock vs Maddison, you already said we have no idea of what we will get next season from willock. He’s been here for a while , we’ve seen him play AM role and he’s not been spectacular ..... Now we have the opportunity in bringing in a top quality player in that position , I think it’s not a bad thing cashing in on willock’s “explosiveness “ at this point in time.!

U guys are making it seem like we kept kepa and sold Becker Allison of some sort . We all know that’s not true, I’ve said it times without numbers that both Martinez and Leno are good keepers, obviously we couldn’t afford to keep both happy in the same team and a decision was made. That’s the kind of decision one has to make when u get to top management level .

I agree with you. Most of the errors made by Leno were induced by the managers insistence that he should almost always play out from the back, some thing Martinez is not subjected to at Villa. Take that away, we have a very good goal keeper. Arteta knows this and will never question Leno's ability.

That alone make me lose faith in him, we conceded stupid goals cos of this silly error

You don’t understand that in football u have to play to coach’s instruction. From day one Arteta has shown he’s a coach that likes to build up play from the back even when he doesn’t have the right set of players to prosecute this .

Leno is under the instruction to play from the back , if he decides to act otherwise he will get an earful from the coach after the game.

I once played amateur football and I understand coaches dislike players who don’t play to instruction. I’ve seen good players relegated to the bench due to this.

A good caoch should play to the player strengths and not their weakness, it was so obvious that passing out from the back was one of Leno weakness
