I have a 2015 ford ranger truck and discovered yesterday that after taking it to the mechanic to fix it(little,intermittent rough idle),it has been consuming a lot of fuel.

Like I just jeep seeing the range on the screen go down so fast without actually covering an inch close to that distance it displays.

He losed the nozzle,claim he took it for "servicing" and this is what I get.

And funny enough the intermittent rough idle is still there.
Please advise me how I can fix this.

Default settings tampered with. But just to be sure check for black smoke from the exhaust tail pipe

Check for external leaks Also. If all checks out, then the default settings has been messed up visit your nearest technical shop

Yeah I noticed black smoke comes out for like 2 seconds and dissapears,
So by removing the nozzles and manifold default settings can be messed up?

Why would you allow them remove your injector nozzle in the first place.

Manufacturer has put things as standard but kazeem don remix am. Find a competent technician to diagnose

He should check for air leak from the vacuum hoses or the Manifold gasket.

How about the catalytic converter. Are you sure your Kazeem hasn’t removed it?

The fuel pump has been tampered with. Take it back to the mechanic to correct the error. Let him know you mean biz

Ford Is known as fuel consumer.

American too like fuel, they're not producing fuel but they've reservoir that can last up to 10 year's.

I use Ford F-150, I had similar experience.
I advice you...
1. check if any of the plug wires are leaking current.

2. Check if all the coils are functional and producing enough current

3. Ensure you're using a motorcraft spark plug and check if all of them are still in good condition

Since you are complaining about your 2015 model, time to upgrade to 2019 model to enjoy change .

Incomplete combustion. The vehicle is doing twice the work in half the time. Hence, consuming more than usual. I will advice you to take a very close look at the coils.

Check your 02 sensors.


Idle and fuel go outta whack when any or all of your oxygen sensors are bad.


If you've intermittent misfires then it's not a bad idea to take a look at your coil packs.
