LOL, he was admitted, with no stress haha
I’ll share the landing gist shortly
Re: Living In Canada/Life As A Canadian Immigrant Part 2 by maralina: 8:14am On Aug 04, 2021
My brother’s Landing gist
His program starts Sept 7th
He traveled Aug 2nd (4 weeks and 5days)

He Got to MMA, they asked him for:
Enrolment letter
Acceptance letter
Covid test
Authorization letter
ArriveCan receipt
3 days Hotel reservation
Which he provided.
The airline staff (Turkish airlines) verified the documents, and said he was okay to board.

He arrived Toronto airport; officer asked for his acceptance letter and letter of introduction.
And issued him study permit. He spent over 2hours at immigration because there was a long queue (so be prepared)
After immigration, he went to claim his baggage.
After that, he went to do covid test, spent over an hour lol.
I was outside waiting for him though.
When he came out, I drove him to the hotel for quarantine; made him some food to sustain him for the 3 days, because I’m pretty sure he won’t like them oyibo meals as a first timer Lol.
Everything went smooth and I thank God for a safe trip.
Wishing everyone coming this fall Safe travels.

Hiya!

Please are you pre-March 18 or post-March 18.

Did IRCC renew your expired documents or what was the process to make you eligible for travel now?

I will really appreciate a response as I am in a similar situation.

I am expired COPR post-March 18 and waiting to know what the process for renewal will be.

Thanks

Hi,

Hope everyone is doing great.

Is there a group for people in Toronto? I'm touching down 3rd week of August with my expired COPR/PRV after almost a year of approval. I would like to connect with new people. I'll be around for 2weeks and yeah, I'm vaccinated.

Thanks.

Yes.

When I got here, i just went to my designated branch showed my ID and immigration documents. They gave me my bank card and other stuffs I asked for.

Hello
How were you able to open it here in Nigeria, I have followed the link you posted for national bank and like someone wrote up there they request for TIN, what is that and how did you provide it?
Also, were you able to just transfer funds from your naira account to the Canadian own before you left Nigeria?

TIN is your tax identification number, ( This wasn’t a requirement when I opened), but I think you should be able to get it.

When the account is opened, a welcome letter and instructions on how to wire your funds will be sent to you.

Try and check the box that states that you do not have a TIN. I think that’s the first box.

Lol.

Please confirm to be sure you can travel with expired documents.

Did IRCC not renew your Visa or give you an AL to travel.

Please contact them to be sure of your next move.

I am just here waiting for Accra to reissue my expired documents.

All the best.

I will try to confirm - IRCC better pick my call today. Its just that the weblink below says people from USA can travel with expired docs.

https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/corporate/publications-manuals/operational-bulletins-manuals/service-delivery/coronavirus/permanent-residence.html

Also, I haven't receive any email from IRCC asking me to re-apply for PRV and COPR.

Oh cool, I assumed you were in NG.

maybe you are correct, just confirm.

Cheers!!

I just spoke with IRCC agent & she confirmed I can travel with expired COPR/PRV. Apparently, that was why they didn’t reach out to me to re-apply for new travel documents because I reside in the USA.

However, she said even though I’m vaccinated, I should still come with a quarantine plan.

Thanks.

Okay, that makes sense.

We in NG are still waiting for the next step to take wrt to our expired documents.

Hopefully, they answer us soon.

All the best!

You can try using Wealthsimple app if you want to get into investment. Their trade app allows you to do it yourself while with their invest app, they choose stocks and ETF to invest.

I have used both although I prefer trade cause I do my own research and buy stocks and ETF and my portfolio is performing better than when I let them do it for me.

Please which stocks is best to buy ..(top list)?
