What is Twitter? I can’t even remember them.

They certainly don’t matter in our lives. Let the twitter ban be permanent and in the Nigerian constitution.

That's his business. We are still using it even without VPN.
How are you doing that

Twitter should go to CAC and register. Build physical office here, hire our teeming youths and pay tax. Nigeria has lost billions of dollars in unremited tax by Twitter that the microblogging site should have been paying all along but local businesses pick up Twitter's tax and pay huge social cost of Twitter including the consequences of Twitter yielding its platform for terrorists and vicious state actors killing our patriots and innocent citizens.

Anything outside these conditions is not in our nation's best interest. What's source for the goose is good for the gander.

Twitter should do the needful unless it wants to be an NGO non profit by continuing with the non-revenue generating VPN crew who just while away time on Twitter and don't pay for ads .

At the end, except Twitter is restored, Twitter will completely lose patronage from big pockets that pay billions for ads like banks, news media, premium MDAs etc . Their competitors like Facebook, nairaland etc are already smiling anyway. God bless Nigeria.
You have no idea what you are talking about

Twitter is a loss making company sir. Their financial reports are in the public domain. Please find it and read.
Do you know why it seems that it is a "loss making company "as it seems to appear in its financials?

You clearly don’t know, what you are talking about.

Go to http://finance.yahoo.com all Twitter financial reports and fundamentals are there.

Twitter also reported its revenue for the last quarter around last week of July and their Ad revenues went up 87%…and that was the quarter that included the Nigeria ban.

Twitter is not loosing sleep over the Nigeria ban. It was Nigeria Government that announced a ‘high profile’ team to negotiate with Twitter, did you hear Twitter announcing any team to negotiate with Nigeria?

The FG said all OTP apps should register with CAC as they are operating illegally….the last time I checked none have registered…so why is the FG not banning Nairaland, Facebook, WhatsApp, Telegram, etc. They thought Twitter will come begging and believed that nonsense about projected revenues from Nigeria now they are regretting their actions.

Most PDP politicians and many Nigerians use Twitter and some APC politicians do also; these politicians need Twitter more and as 2023 draws nearer you will start seeing of them including APC running to Twitter to campaign.
Haba, please just calm down and download Twitter financial reports and read but if you don't understand the technique of interpreting financial reports, just ask a finance person to read it and explain to you . More revenue does not mean you are now profitable and even the Twitter board is changing focus now to having a clean platform and investing in assets to help them reach more online audiences. I have these reports but will appreciate if you do the hardwork of getting true information too sir. It's good for you too.

Facebook, Micrisoft , Google have offices in Nigeria and pay tax. Twitter can do so too. It's no big deal after all years of escaping tax payment despite the billions it earns from Nigeria

Sir, there's shareholders funds and companies can use asset to get loan so the fact that a business makes losses is not really a problem as much as losing a key revenue earner. For Twitter, in Africa market, Nigeria is a significant revenue earner. The financial reports I recommended that you read is the one submitted to the SEC, regulator of publicly listed companies in the US, I am not recommending that you read news report or blog sir.
My point is that Twitter needs Nigeria more than Nigeria needs it. And for a loss making company like Twitter, losing the Nigerian revenue is bad news. Like I stated, I don't want their ban outrightly, they should come here and register with CAC , hire our teeming youths, pay tax to Nigeria. If they are involved in the progress of Nigeria, they will think twice before yielding their platform to terrorists because they know it will hurt their employees or business investments.
Twitter needs Nigeria more than Nigeria needs Twitter?
Is this man seriously joking or joking seriously?

How about the internet go to hell too... Natural and go to hell too... The programming languages used to code everything on the internet should go to hell too.

Funny thing is a country like Nigeria that have never invented anything outside fraud, corruption, tribalism, religious fanaticism, evil, greed, hatred for progress, kidnapping, armed robbery, first class political thieves and goverment officials is telling a platform that have made money or provided jobs to hundreds of thousands of Nigerian's to go to hell.

The sad part is una president go travel go the country of people when invent twitter for health care but ban you from using Twitter... Even monkeys and baboons dey laugh Nigeria.

By the way breaking news is Nigeria is the headquarters of hell... So which hell are you referring to for twitter to go to?

So how much has Facebook and Nairaland paid as taxes since Twitter was banned if by your assertion they will be quaking in their boots. You guys are just dense upstairs. You cannot attract simple bricks and mortar businesses into Nigeria but are busy chasing industries that are as volatile as air. Does it not occur to you that it is easier to hold the wind in your hand than control cyberspace. Never seen such ignorant people given so much power. Well Nigeria today is the result.

You can talk like this because your business does not need the service of Twitter, definitely you are of those benefitting from the quota system without having requisite under your belt to impact yourself with new innovations. While I want Twitter to yield to the FG demand to pay tax to the government coffer, but considering the attendant cost of denying those millions of creative Nigerians the opportunity to build something for themselves using the micro blogging, this is more like another brand of corruption being perpetrated on helpless Nigerians who try to help themselves despite the government by adopting new technologies but the government still constituting a roadblock on their path towards self reliance. All in all, the FG needs to look at the marginal benefits of banning Twitter compared to the costs, if the benefits outweigh the cost, definitely this ban is counterproductive on Nigeria. They might not see it so because the ban does not affect their business interests directly, their business is Nigeria and keeping the country as one, so they are protecting their own business while selfishly destroying millions of other businesses.

Has this ban actually stopped the secessionist agitators from using the Twitter platform? NO! So why continuing with it?

Buhari is not going to lift the ban on Twitter till he leaves office to safe face.

But he should please open the southern border of Seme and allow people go about their legitimate business, before Southerners start eating grasses like their notherner counterparts.
