The federal executive council (FEC) has approved a new policy for tollgates across the country.

Babatunde Fashola, minister of works and housing, disclosed this at a media briefing on Wednesday.

According to a statement by Tolu Ogunlesi, presidential aide, the council granted approval of the ‘Federal Roads and Bridges Tolling Policy and Regulations’ at its meeting on Wednesday.

While noting that the tolling system will prioritise the use of technology, some highlights of the regulations include recommended tolling fees for vehicles as follows: “Cars: N200; SUVs: N300; Private Buses: N300; Commercial Buses: N150, and Luxury Buses and Trucks: N500.”

The real question is "will the money generated from the tolling not end up in some ogas and omo ise account".

The Lagos airport toll gate, you will observe the toll officer allowing some cars pass free of charge, if he has such powers it simply means he can short-change the total toll paid to him.

This government has gone bankrupt. They are now devising new criminal ways of siphoning funds from Nigerians. If they are permitted, they will dip their lecherous fingers into the bank accounts of Nigerians to fund their expensive lifestyles.
What have they been able to achieve with the increased tax and vat we pay? Nothing
With the loans they have been collecting upandan? Nothing.
Reduce the cost of governance by merging ministries and reducing personnel not needed. They said NO.
This government is just useless.

Because those bus drivers are already paying NURTW and plenty unregistered agberos on every nook and cranny of this large city. That’s minus bailing their vehicles from LASTMA, VIO, etc at least once a month. Ko easy, really.

Apparently, they have not learned from #ENDSARS .. they refuse to create more access roads after 10years in order to squeeze people in 5hour traffic collecting tolls to spend on their girlfriends and dumb children. IT SHALL BURN

It is worrisome that our government thought it wise to re-introduce the tollgate system when 80% of our roads, including the federal roads, are in a bad shape.
