ajoke1824:That path will be saturated soon. It will soon be like MS word, etc. Just have a specific field that you are using the data analytics. |

Let me drop this gist here. I am currently working as a Data Analyst. I started in 2019 and i have moved across 4 jobs with the one i am in now as the 4th one. Data Analytics pays a lot if you so good. Learn Python(Preferably) or R, then PowerBI or Tableau or Google Data Studio. Also Excel knowledge and SQL knowledge will help you a lot. If you can use 6 months actively working on learning and practicing Data, you will be so good. Lastly, understand business knowledge too and how it works with data. Data analytics is useless without Domain knowledge. I also should tell you that you become better at Data Analysis by analyzing data not by watching videos on analyzing Data itself. What develops your muscles is actually wrangling data, exploratory analysis, thinking analytically and getting insights from data. So while you watch videos, also practice daily. It is a promising career with many companies looking for sound Data Analytics professionals. Nice day. |

ajoke1824:As a young 21 year old girl at level 300 studying Economics, this my candid advice: 1. Get a very good grade in Economics e.g. 2:1 or first class (at worst, a 2:2) 2. Get into ACCA (it has global recognition but more expensive) or go for ICAN 3. Then acquire Data Analytics to support your career and be multi-skilled. (you would be in much better position to reap the benefits/value in data analytics when you combine it with professional qualification/competence as a chartered accountant with BSc in Economics). Data Analytics can be applied to various specialized fields e.g. business, IT, medicine, etc. but is much better to be an expert/ core professional in the subject area and then add data-analytics to complement your skill-set, enhance your employability, versatility, ability to change job/career etc. Don't make the mistake of over-relying on only data analytics by neglecting the other core disciplines e.g. accounting/economics. It is much better to have very good understanding of the subject area so that you could interpret and possibly take decision on the report generated from your data analytics. You would be a hot cake if you can combine BSc Economics, ACCA and Data Analytics. (CFA will be the crown of it all, especially if you want to work in a financial institution) |

ajoke1824:This is soooo me right now. Your case is even better than mine cos you're very much younger and you've identified your passion. I'm just stucked right now but I definitely would want to go into data analysis. May be because it's related to my course, but I don't think I have the passion. But like they say, when there's a will, there's a way. Please, do well to mention me when you finally decide on what you want to do |

Yes, indeed from my research. Data analytics is a field under data science. Very lucrative now and many re yet to tap into the field, and data analysts are on demand now. Am currently undergoing an online class with quantum analytics and it's interesting. From wat I learnt, one can easily get remote jobs and be paid in USD. Not abt d money, tho it counts. Acquire the skill and be good at it as no knowledge of such is a waste. |

Suspect33:Maybe. But it is easier to own a business and/or freelance for clients even in your locality with web development than data analysis. Working in data analysis is more like a pyramid scheme work system: Big data analysis firm with connections gets the jobs from big firms then mostly outsource it to freelancers or those in their employ. Most times, as a data analyst, you can't really point to any project you did as yours which means you can't build a legacy portfolio. With web development, it's possible. And data analysis has a steeper learning curve. You'd need to learn and commercialise other digital skills before you break even with data analysis. And, many web developers are increasingly adding SEO analysis, intermediate-level cybersecurity and copywriting to their skill sets. These extra skills make you more sort after as a web developer. |

Data Analytics is the future that is already here Data Analytics will be an interesting journey but you need to start pretty early.... Hope your math and stats are good and they will come as added advantage. Get yourself on some introductory courses on coursera, udemy etc. For post grad, check Data or Business Analytics courses at Havard, Chicago Booth, Texas Universities |

chrisxxx:Printed circuit board. Proteus has the Isis schematic display and PCB profile. The PCB allows people to generate Gerber files to send for production in mass. If you want to know more about PCB, go to YouTube and search for a British lecturer called Scott Card. Hr has a whole course on Proteus which includes PCB. Learn it and start making money. The picture below is a circuit done on perf board. You cannot do manynof this circuit before it will be copied or you even get tired. To make it appear like the green printed oyibo boards you usually see in your electronics, you need to build the PCB version of it, send the files to China for production

Brooke60:Since you already know HTML and CSS. What is your career, what do you want to go into? If its web design, don't waste your time, go straight to WordPress, but if you have other career paths that's programming related, learn JavaScript. If you are going into data analysis, then go to python. So it depends on what you want to do. |

evy800:Guy, we are actually in the same situation. At age 28+, I deserve better. I actually dropped my comment before I saw yours. I'm also thinking about venturing into data analysis next year. I want to save small cash from this yeye job I'm doing as I'm so, so, so unhappy. I'm quitting it Nov/Dec. I deserve better. IT truly is the future |

ajoke1824:It’s an extremely high potential path, with potentially lucrative outcomes. Go for it. A friend went overseas to do her MSc in Data Science just last year. She already has a job in a nearby European country, working with one of the big 5 Tech companies. Make that move ! |
