Keep exonerating IPOB. The demon you are pampering will soon mature.
When the demon is mature, he'll still say it's Fg that's responsible for their growth.

The eyewitness told ABN TV that the victim was rejected in the first hospital but later admitted at Federal Medical Centre where he was eventually pronounced dead.

Sorry if I sound ignorant, but can someone please explain to me why an institution established primarily to save lives will reject a dying man who got shot.

Let's assume he was treated by the first hospital, we'd probably be reading a different story.

But seriously I'll like someone to give an elucidating answer to the question I raised.
Maybe there's a statue or law requiring hospital to selectively treat gunshot victims.
Well, he was shot in the chest, meaning a possible serious chest wound.

The Chest contains the heart, the lungs, and lots of major vessels. It is possible the bullet hit any one of those organs...especially the heart and also possible it hit major vessels as well. In that case...the patient needs to get to a teaching/tertiary hospital with a very good specialist surgeon...if possible a specialist cardiothoracic surgeon to operate on the patient and save his life.

The hospital he was first referred to/seen at most likely was a primary or secondary health care hospital which won't have that level of expertise to treat his chest wound...and probably won't touch it (The doctor there is most likely not a specialist. And if the doctor tried to do things above what he can do, he or she could be sanctioned by the appropriate bodies for not referring the patient to expert care).

In brief, if a doctor or nurse, or any other medical worker sees a case they cannot manage, it is their duty to refer that case. It may sound like rejection, but it is necessary to prevent legal liability...and to save the patient's life...or at least give them a fighting chance of survivial.

this guy was shot in the chest. Most private hospitals don't have what it takes to handle that patient. That man needed a cardiothoracic surgeon. So it wasn't really a rejection per say but a referral. The media will always be sensational. Its only in tertiary institutions like FMC or teaching hospitals will you get such service.

By my view, maybe the hospital don't have the necessary equipment to carry out such treatment eg oxygen and meanwhile doctors have their speciaty. If I don't have what it takes for treatment of gun shot, why waste my time and knowing that, anything not done properly the family of the decease may sue me to court. The matter can change over nigh while you were only trying to help. Naija matter. There is a reason for every action done

some of these private hospitals in Nigeria are not qualified to be called hospital at all.

most only have one doctor who are not licensed to treat some conditions.

take for instance, a private hospital is owned by a gynecologist and you bring in a patient with severe CVD (stroke)...

he would immediately refer u to a general hospital where such condition can be treated...

most private hospitals in Nigeria are just there to treat typhoid and malaria and deliver women of pregnancy.

anything contrary to this, they refer u to a general...

funny enough, I know where this happened in umuahia and I probably know the hospital that rejected the patient.

I saw those mad Olokoro boys misbehaving yesterday.

RIP to the dead

When you said Fulanis and Yorubas are the same thing on the thread where a man murdered a three year old daughter of a pastor who owed him money, I asked you if your tribesmen are any better.
Now, instead of you to call on the authority to fish out the perpetrators and bring them to justice in order to prevent the future occurrence, you're here shamelessly defending criminals that you don't even know. Busy shifting blame to your imaginary enemies.
Like I used to tell you, never disappoint me.

You went to another man's land to buy yam, buy ram for sacrifice to the gods. How did you think the gods will bless you since the yam you wish to celebrate is not coming from your farm/land, even the ram is not your own. How did you think the new yam festival will go smoothly? Now person don die. What a crazy situation.
