Bodmum:
I ordered an item from aliexpress earlier this month but its seems the item has been delivered to Brazil. This is my first time ordering from Ali, somebody should help me interpret these screenshots. It's like I got something wrong

The seller was mostly likely untruthful. He probably had reasons not to ship your item (probably ran outta stocks) but in order not to give you the chance to cancel your order (which may also earn him a penalty and negative ranking), he decided to give you the tracking number of another buyer. By the time you realize and complain to him, he may have stocked new items and then he will apologise, then send your own.

In worst case scenario, he will just apologise and ask you to open trade dispute for refunds of money citing the reason as "item was sent to a different address". Of course he will not hesitate to accept the dispute and he has also been saved the penalty for failing to ship your item because AE will not be aware of that part. Of course if you had over-relaxed and assumed your item will arrive and purchase protection runs out, it will be a loss for you and double gain for the seller, for your money "for unsent items" will be handed over to him.

So in the light of this Brazil discovery, message the seller and demand he gives you the correct tracking number.

In the rarest of cases, probably it was an innocent clerical error of the seller mistakenly giving you someone else's tracking number. In such cases, by the time he gives you the correct number and you track, the item will have been in transit (to your destination of course) for a while rather than being "freshly shipped".

Still another explanation could be that Brazil is just a transit country for another reciever of the item that will now ship the received parcel from there to Nigeria. I have experienced this before with a sliding gate opener that was manufactured in Singapore but listed by a Chinese seller on AE. The first journey was from Singapore to China and the seller sent me the misleading tracking number. When I queried him on the "item received" status of destination China, he asked that I wait for 24 hours while he provides me with a new tracking number which now turned out to be destination Nigeria. When the parcel arrived and I opened it, I realized that there is an under-wrap/inner package addressed to China and the outer main package addressed to Nigeria meaning it was first shipped from Singapore the country of manufacture to China where the seller is and then finally to Nigeria where the buyer is; all on expedited FedEx shipping of course.

Bodmum:
thanks but the problem is I don't know how to contact him

Message him on the app . Please be weary of the purchase protection because DHL and other expedited items usually and expectedly have purchase protection of about 14 to 20 days contrary to the 70 days for other shipping options. So if you find out the purchase protection days expires in few days, have a plan B of opening trade dispute alongside the message you'll send to the buyer, in case he deliberately refuses to read your message or reply playing for time for the purchase protection to expire.

Whenever you deal disputes on AE especially for fake items that you can establish and convince AE team of the "fakeness", never select "return item to seller" as an option. Neither should you agree with the seller that asks you to return it.

First, the seller breached protocol and trust by sending you a fake or substandard item and will be rightly punished for doing do by the AE team. It is therefore not your headache to send the item back because that will cost you money and the sellers know that fact, reason why they bring up the suggestion in order to frustrate your efforts to return it and eventually make you to give up on the trade dispute, moving on to accept your loss and licking your wounds.

Second, such items are yours to keep. And you still demand your money be refunded in full. In worst case scenario, you can negotiate a partial refund, an amount that will be dictated by you yourself. The seller might plead for a 50 50 split or may even wanna cheat you to a 60 40 split. It is you that will refuse to be railroaded. Stand firm on full refund or at worst an 80 20 split in your favour.

About 6 years ago during my heydays of hunting for a Bluetooth speaker, I came across an AE seller who listed Bose Soundlink 2 for a very discounted price, I think around 14k as against the 40k price of the original. It was AE 11/11 shopfest, so discounts are not unexpected. All the descriptions and pictures of the item suggested the real deal (for I had a friend who owned one). So I paid and got sent a dud, a poor imitation with abysmal performance. In less than 24hrs of receiving and testing the item, I borrowed the original from my friend, made a video of the two side by side with audio commentary on the stark differences thereby establishing beyond reasonable doubt the counterfeit in what the seller sent. I also took screenshot of his description and pictures of the item on his listing and how it seriously contrasts with what he sent. I uploaded the video alongside my dispute and also sent him a copy in a mail provided by him to go thru his folly.

I got to keep the counterfeit and still got my full refund. I shopped around for the original from another seller a year after. Meanwhile the counterfeit still works till now. It's just that the bass is wack and the battery backup has worsened, almost non-existent that you need to keep it plugged into the mains to keep it working, but the speaker is fairly loud. It also has an SD card slot, FM radio and poor battery backup, which are all absent in the authentic Bose Soundlink.

I later discovered that the seller had operated his account for just two months before I patronised him and he apparently opened the account against the 11/11 price crashes and I fell victim of his scam. The shop was no longer available shortly after I gave him my damning review. He had probably ran off to open another fake shop account.

You should have also included the screenshot of the total cost (including shipping) on AE. That way peeps will know the price difference.

Also in the Jumia price since the item is Jumia global item, quote the total costs including price of item plus customs clearing price plus "shipping to Nigeria" cost. Then proper comparison between the costs on Jumia and AE can be made to see if it is worth the stress or not.

Edited: I just checked back the Jumia screenshot and it seems the item is not Jumia global. Meaning it is likely already on ground and total cost is 34k including 1k shipping.

So provide AliExpress screenshot of the item's total cost for better comparison.

Your choice TBH.

On AE, I bought the motion+ in June and it cost me around 38k, free shipping (Anker official store deal).

This was even after missing a deal in May that would have cost me just 36k to get the motion+.

Nope too expensive. Either add money and buy the Motion+ from AE or buy the soundcore boost, Flare 2 or Soundcore 3 from AE

How long does it takes to arrive Nigeria? And how's the battery life?

I don't really know what to say about those guys.

Had a package that arrived last month and didn't receive a call or text from them despite my tracking ID was displaying "Delivery failed" a week earlier.

I had to call them on phone before I was told my package was with them.

Some days they're fast and other days, they're too slow.

Shipping of lithium batteries on planes is usually prohibited; for safety reasons apparently.

But the same lithium battery goods are being shipped to the US with ease with air freight.

I had to advise a friend against buying such mobile phone around March, this year ,when he came to me that he saw a particular unknown brand with amazing specs. According to him, the phone has 12gb of ram, 256gb of internal storage and all that ,and the price is ridiculously cheap (less than 100$). I told him not to buy it because it's fake, but he found it difficult to believe me. I asked him to check the reviews on YouTube, using the model name as keywords in the search box to confirm my findings. He came back later to thank me for the advice..... If you're familiar with Wish website, you'll discover that such mobile phones are the major sales brands there, but of recent, they've been able to penetrate Aliexpress platform (am still surprised why aliexpress would allow such). Looking at the model names, you'll discover that majority of the phones are cloned versions of Xiaomi and Huawei brands. For example, you could see something like 'Radmi note 10' instead of the real 'Redmi note10'. So, they are all there to deceive buyers into buying them. That's why it pays to buy from known brand when shopping on Aliexpress.

wow, quite an interesting read, kudos for sharing. Honestly before I buy any product from aliexpress I first read the reviews, I check out the store, I check how many stars it got to be sure of it's authenticity. Reviews are very important, the more positive reviews I see, the more confident I get to buy from the seller

You're the one to type in the amount you want refunded - from zero usd to the full amount due to you. So you just type in the amount you want in-between.

"Delivery failed" does not literarily imply what it means. In NIPOST context, it simply means that your item has reached its last bus stop, is with them and awaiting collection.

So you might wanna contact your local PO.
