I don't understand what the uproar is about.. The Taliban were the ones ruling Afghanistan for years until America attacked the country in search of Bin Laden and removed the Taliban. Now the Taliban is back after America withdrew it's forces so what's the uproar about? Clearly the country doesn't want the western system of govt. The country had always been an Islamic nation so I wonder why everyone is making a fuss about it
.... If the taliban is so good, why were afgan citizens falling off a moving plane in a bid to leave the country so as to avoid taliban rule?

It has nothing to do with America. Its a party affair. Republicans don't like the arabs but the Democrats do. American empire remains strong as ever. Any nation who differs should just try them. Enough said

Why do people want them banned.

If the Talibans have the mandate of the majority, then I think outsiders should respect the wishes of the people and then if the Talibans misbehaves the can then be dealt with.

stop prempting their actions and keep monitoring the reality on ground.
.... Did u say mandate of the majority? Didn't u see people falling off planes in a bid to leave the country before taliban finally takes over Afghanistan? That is hardly a people's mandate to me!

Twitter is a social platform and they have to violate their rules to qualify to be banned… threats against persons, groups or sex etc are not allowed but just expressing your opinion is valid. One thing I know is shadowbanned or not if what you say is good enough it will move beyond your shores

I feel all the media hype is to persuade the public they are bad when all they did was hide bin laden but since he was found and killed there’s really no reason to be in Afghanistan again

Children can finally play and even adults who grew up in the war torn country and could not bumper car can finally do so it’s deep what we take for granted people barely have but are grateful they can now live without the sound of gunshots children can now play in the streets

All our leaders need to know is our generation is different we mustn’t all suffer for the actions of 1

Western Media has caused dyslexia to many Folks. Afghanistan’s population is Approximately 34 Million. Less than 1million people are seeking refuge elsewhere and the media is making it Seem like the whole country is burning. It’s obvious the Afghan citizens loves their religious style of Government. If we accept that majority carries the Vote in a democratic system of Government we should not play double standard to millions of Afghans that wanted their Islamic Rule back.POLYGAMY over LGBTQ.
I’ve come to notice that is only Aljazera that shows other parts of Afghanistan that’s peaceful. School , markets and Other activities still goes on. But the only picture circulating online is aircraft carrying asylum seekers.

Same thing I have been saying since Taliban took over their land.

The hypocrisy of the west and ignorant nairalanders stinks.

Honestly speaking as if u pull these words from my mouth.
Bin laden they claimed to search has been killed as far back as Obama's era, now, my question is, all the soldiers that died after the death of bin laden in Afghanistan died for what exactly?? What would be the achievement the soldiers deployed to Afghanistan after the death of Bin laden proud of?

Stupidity is when it takes a country's 4 presidents, trillions of taxpayers fund, thousands of soldiers death to take over from Taliban and handover back to Taliban. So useless. I hope America will now be mindful of unnecessary invasions next time especially the middle east. They want to have a strong presence in middle east apart from Israel being an ally there, it didn't work. America will go and restrategize and know that Islam is an ideology, not just a religion.

You dey mind them? it's funny tho. They want to westernize an Islamic country by force. And we are here insinuating that some ppl are trying to islamize Nigeria which is a very big impossibility.

Double standards of hypocritical humans.

What is the big deal about having a verified twitter account or ban from twitter? I still get the jokes, information and the rest of whatever you can get online without having operating a twitter account. At times I think we over hype some certain things to gain wide outreach. Since the ban of twitter, there is no information I need that I haven't been privilege to get.
Re: Twitter Refuses Call To Ban Taliban From Its Platform by Daarreenn: 11:33am On Aug 18, 2021
Why are talibans branded terrorist groups and why should they be banned? As long as their people are happy with them and they don't encroach on other countries I couldn't care less how they govern their state. They said they wanted to get rid of opium, alcohol etc and practice their Islam, majority of their people are hardcore Islam, why exactly are we suppose to give a shiit about them?

How is this for making a fuss?

During the Taliban's return to power in Afghanistan, the insurgents reportedly married girls as young as 12 and forced them into sex slavery as 'spoils of war,' and killed Afghan troops who tried to surrender.
