Onitsha Market also known as Onitsha Main Market is one of the largest markets in West Africa based on geographical size and volume of goods It is based in the city of Onitsha, the commercial capital of Anambra State in southeastern Nigeria and governed by one of the most revered traders associations on the continent, the Onitsha Market Traders Association (OMATA). Most of the major import merchants from Eastern Nigeria have their head offices within the market. The average traders in the area are known to bring in at least six consignments of 40 tonnes (40-feet containers) of goods annually. Some of the major importers do more than 200 consignments of 40 tonnes of goods per year. These include jewelry, clothing, household, industrial, and office equipment. While Onitsha boasts of having the largest markets in West Africa and high-rising buildings in Nigeria. 4 Likes 1 Share

I don't know what people aim to achieve with this kind of meaningless threads? Other countries are thinking of how they will progress technologically and also the Igbo nation is looking forward for a more advanced society and not these kind of distraction. Op if you are really Igbo I don't think it's necessary to drag mud with those pretending to be Yorubas being paid to cause disunity amongst the southern region. An Igbo man does not concern himself with irrelevant topics rather its business matters they are thinking of. 2 Likes |

bomb24: I don't know why you are shouting? If you go through my post here you will notice I always give them hot. By now you should know most of the negative threads towards Igbos are mostly done by northerners pretending to be yoruba. Though, the perception of Igbos by the west is not that good. You should know when to take a break and don't be medium in which the premitive barbarians who go about killing innocent people in their farms and homes use you in their division tactics to attract hatred towards the Igbos. Igbos are not concerned with petty games with enemies of a just and lovely society. Take it easy. |

Re: Onitcha by 9japride(m): 3:35pm On Aug 21, 2021 |
My advice to all Igbo speaking people should please ignore this thread. It does not make any logical sense that someone will just open an insensitive topic. What has Yoruba people done today to deserve this thread? The evil narratives by the cabal is to make sure other Nigerian tribes see Igbos as bitter people and keep southerners arguing aimlessly while they are cornering all the resources of the country and strategizing for the next election. Make una wise up and leave this childish talks and irrelevant cruise catching. Its baseless. 2 Likes |

Re: Onitcha by aribisala0(m): 4:48pm On Aug 21, 2021 |
The problem many of you have is you do not THINK before talking You make so much noise about a BIG MARKET without asking ] What do they sell there? How does it get there? Most ( well over 70% ) of what little manufacturing we have in Nigeria is i Lagos and Ogun State Well over 70% of the imports come in via Lagos Yet you want us to believe Lagosians Flood Onitsha the Largest market in the World TO BUY WHAT EXACTLY Where is the road or rail network to support this funny claim? We see gridlock in Apapa Where is the gridlock on the Niger bridge? |
