Don't sound dumb. When has ethnicity ever been included in your nigeria census forms? You want to leave reality to hope on hopelessness? You need data to determine the population of Igbos and their guests in Igbo people's land? What arrant nonsense.
YES you use data to find out information if we don't have data then that's a problem

Stop sounding stupid. You only need datta to find out the exact numbers of both, but not when you want to compare who are most in number.
Bini migrants are few in Aboh when compare to Igbos who are the owners of the land. Don't tell me you need data to find out about that.

I did my research and I agree with you the Ndokwa people in Aboh are predominantly Igbo there are only a few Bini people within the kingdom

Nope some were conquered or assimilated into larger kingdoms the Nri took over more areas around them and the Aro took over lots of land such as those of the Ohafia and Edda
are you kidding?
the aros never took land belonging to the ohafia biko

They used the Ohafia to conquer other lands so I assumed they had to conquer the people in order to use them in wars or am I mistaken

Abohs were the first people to be called igbos (Eboes)
When there are towns named "Akwukwu-Igbo" and "Igbo-Ụzọ"
Don't allow these Bini people to use your brain for their own benefits.
Open your eyes. That's how Ikwerre used and rubbished Ndigbo because of people like you

From your statement "Before the British expanded Onitsha"
I can deduce that the aim of this your lies is to throw your Shameless tentacles on Innocent Ndigbo minding their business.
Probably to make your Aboh people hit limelight by insulting Ndigbo like your colleagues Ikwerre and Ika have done successfully.
But let me burst your bubble "Ndigbo have changed"
Any attempt to iberibe on this thread will be met with more Shameless iberibe.

See his mouth "Before the British expanded Onitsha" as if Aboh is not the first recorded Igbo Community (When they were Igbo) to fall to Britain Shameless and declared a province when others were still fighting.

smh there's no hope for unity is there. Simply reviving the trade route of the Niger River, rejuvenating towns and cities to become industrial trading hubs, opening up the river for fishing and uniting the south politically to challenge the north is now seen as some sort of evil

Abohboy:
It's not originally Ijaw based off of my research on the Lower Niger at the time thr Ijaw were simply salt makers and fishers not really concerned with war canoes unless it was an inter tribal thing it was the Igala and Aboh people that owned large war canoes able to fit 80+ people and armed with cannon and sophisticated guns this is why they were able to control trade all the way from ijaw land up to the confluence and beyond because of how strong their navy was.

I'm not exactly sure of how the tradition started but I know till this day in my village we still have these displays with our large canoes and our traditional war dances and songs along the Niger River
This is massive. Thanks.

No problem it's my pleasure but it must be remembered that the Ijaw did own war canoes that were quite large just that they were not as well equipped or as powerful as those of other groups.

The existence of war canoes amongst Igbo groups without Ijaw influence is rarely mentioned. That would suggest there may be need for a crosscheck.

Any chance this is related to the war canoes of southernmost Igboland?

Yes this is related to the southernmost groups like Ukwuani, Ndokwa, Anioma, Ndoni etc. But seems they improved on whatever the Ijaw showed them because they were able to take other the Niger River and control all trade up and down the stretch from the confluence and below

Yes that's true but they also have bini blood in them so it's a mix
There's no single Bini blood in Ndokwa. The recorded and traceable tribes with footprint in Ndokwa is Igala and Urhobo/Isoko. You will notice through some name similarities between Ndokwa and Igala. The Urhobo/Isoko influence is undeniable. Mind you the influence is both ways but you will hardly see these other groups highlighting the presence of Igbos in their ancestry. I wonder why some of you do so.

I'm pretty sure there's some bini blood but I agree with the Urhobo/Isoko aspect because my dad is Ndokwa from Aboh but he gave my brother an Isoko name saying it was one of the languages that his father spoke to him as well as Ndokwa and Ukwuani

I said assimilated not take over, they willingly joined because they agreed with the ideology of the Nri that's why the Nri were the largest igbo kingdom and the most renowned

They stopped making the massive boats as the importance of the city declined and as the amount of trade going in and out reduced there was no reason for them to maintain the consturction of large boats. So there are only smaller boats used at festivals and a few british pictures

Interesting. This is a very very nice picture. Any more available?

But then, how can one tell it's not from the Okoloma Ndoki (Bonny) area.

There aren't many of the old ones I only have one more when it comes to the new ones you can tell by the masquerades used and seen on the boats as well as the hats worn I can bring a video of the Aboh cultural festivals and you can see that water procession on large boats is a massive part of these celebrations

Reviving a thread route on the River Niger, and your first target is aboh instead of Onitsha that has a booming economy and actually needs the seaport the most?

Inferiority complex and somehow to feel important. He's trying to align with the Igbo heartland now because he feels he needs them, that's why this history class. I mean his people knew all these but denied being Igbo because of what?
