Bike men are most useless that's why I hate them,why try to overtake truck for goodness sake,now they go blame village people. Same with Keke that tried to overtake tanker at Area 1 in Abj and they got banned immediately

A first-class final-year student of the Michael Okpara University of Agriculture, Blessing Kalu, has been killed by a truck in Umudike Oboro in the Ikwuano Local Government Area of Abia State.

The victim who is an indigene of Nkporo, in the Bende LGA of Abia State, had boarded a motorcycle to a gas station to fill her cylinder up with cooking gas, and was on her way home when the accident happened.

According to eyewitnesses, the driver of the motorcycle Kalu boarded was on the verge of overtaking the truck when the accident happened. She was knocked down and thereafter started breathing heavily. She was rushed to the hospital where she was pronounced dead.

Kalu who bagged a first-class in Entrepreneurial Studies student, finished her final examination last Friday. She went to church on Sunday, August 22 for thanksgiving and sadly, lost her life on Monday, August 23. Her body has since been deposited in the morgue.

May her soul rest in peace, Amen.

Very, very sad! I feel for the parents. May her soul rest in peace.

Honestly, bikes are causing so much damage to lives. The riders are often so careless. An inlaw lost his son who rode on a bike within a campus (just from hostel to class). The pain is still so fresh. I understand that there may not be an option sometimes but I still believe that buses and cabs are safer in most circumstances.

What a terrible incident.

Only God protects us all, yet people should learn to be conscious. This could have been avoided if she had cautioned the bike man or request he stops if he is not yielding.

You should ask about what happened to the "Brain" that produced the marks that begets the certificate.........
