Do you pay your workers at the end of the month or after?Do you rain insults on them? Some of you employers make good profits from the effort of your workers but you are inhumane to them. You want them to be 100% loyal. It doesn't work that way. |

| Re: My Ordeal With My Worker Today. by VTJN(m): 12:03pm On Aug 26, 2021 |
dingbang:Exactly It's an agreement between both paty (Employer and Employee) the monthly take home. The amount of profit remited monthly is none of the employee's business The truth is that honesty is hard to come by amongst humans. Particularly, Nigerians |

emmanuelewumi:lol no really,I just learnt early enough that there is no such thing as loyalty, People agree more with difficulty than loyalty. Every human I greedy, they want to make it to the top by just piggybacking on an existing opportunity another person suffered to create, Deny them that. That is my mantra. Yes it cost me much to add all these unnecessary costs ,but it has made my business remain solely mine and me not having to share market share by people I work with who might even use my money to fund their racketeering and make profits off of me.No! I rather spend more to ensure this never happens,or I do it myself. That's how I roll. |

dahmie2013:If eventually they find the honest people, will they pay them well and treat them fair? You'll notice that most honest employees don't stay long in an organization cos most Nigerian employers exploit their honesty and overload them with responsibilities that were not part of their job description. |

Human resources management is a big issue in any organization no matter how small. This is the same issue I'm having ust that I've tried to manage to my utmost ability. I run a car wash, laundry, restaurant and a bar at same place, so I decided to bring my wife's younger one to come make a life for himself. Free food, free accommodation and no pressure, just do your work collect money. I was at home towards the end of the lock down when my customers started informing me that he was coercing them to employ him for home service. I nearly cried. Dude went round teeing people I was owing him for months. Same money my and my wife was keeping for him to help him save cos he's a spen thrift. It hurt me badly |

I could remember vividly last year may 29th when my husband had an accident, his hullage truck rammed into one woman's Mercedes and the damages were huge.the woman dragged him to the station and he was locked up.i was with my then ex worker then(fegor) she's now schooling at ogwashi-uku polytechnic. I left briefly for like two hours in the evening time o,when I came back, cud you believe that she gave me only #2900 what she has sold. See let me save my strength... After due consultation with my husband last night,he advised I shut down the other hustle maybe for good. And face the one bn managed by me. |

Emexicoman:How can you be helping a full grown man keep his money? Pay him and let him lavish it if he wants just make sure you don't pay him by cash but by bank transfer with proper description in the narration of the transfer so you can have evidence that you actually paid him! |

SeaTrade:bro go on YouTube and do this video. Preferably in English, Yoruba and pigin. People will watch it, hit likes and all. After like five years, the number of people who would have watched tge video and liked it would have reached a certain number. YouTube will start paying you. That's what I heard |

SeaTrade:Wow. So much wisdom in one post. Such wisdom can only be gotten from experience. Thanks for sharing. More applicable to Nigerian SMEs than stuff like McKinsey Insights I run a business too, with a lot of trade secrets. One way I avoid staff learning such secrets is division of labour. Instead of having one person doing an entire business task, I break it up into like 3 smaller tasks for 3 different people, with each person concentrating on theirs, not knowing fully what the others are doing. Yes, costs may go up, but it's worth it, as I cannot sow for others to reap. The worst part is that after learning these secrets, they will still use your own cash, raw materials, equipment, tools and resources to do their "runs" while running your own to the ground. |
