That's a harsh one probably on Chelsea - even if a correct decision. Reece James did handle the ball by current handball rules - which don't care if it's intentional. But if it's an accidental handball it feels a bit much to send him off on top of the penalty. You don't get sent off for a fair but mistimed tackle in the box anymore.

If the hand was not there when the ball hit james' thigh, would the ball have entered the net? As the hand was there, after the ball hit his thigh, did the hand prevented the ball from entering the net?

The red card was predicated on the fact the hand prevented the ball entering the net after it touched on his thigh.
