Dare devil armed robbers allegedly attacked Diete Koki Memorial Hospital in Opolo, Yenagoa. This is as residents at Amarata-Imgbi road are currently locked up indoors over incessant robberies. Focus Naija can report that they allegedly gained entrance through a perimeter fence and robbed doctors and the hospital’s patients including women that were in labour. According to Adakien Torukuru, a source privy to the incident, a member of his church was also on labour when the robbery happened. When contacted by newsmen, a doctor Okeleghel Awudumapu who narrated his ordeal, said the two-man gang took him unaware while returning from his call room. Doctor Awudumapu, said his belongings and that of patients from the labour ward and their family members were all stolen. Reacting to the incident, the Medical Director ,Dr Emmanuel Fetepigi, who expressed sadness, described the act as barbaric. Dr Fetepigi said management will collaborate with the Ministry of Health to ensure that measures are put in place to forestall future occurrence.
