Every football fan loves when a player is skillful. Skillful players make football look beautiful and easy. Lets take a look at five footballers who have skill moves names after them. Antonin Panenka— The Panenka: Perhaps one of the most popular skills/technique for taking penalties in football. Antonin Panenka played most of his career games for a club called Bohemians Praha. He started the Panenka penalty kick in the in the final of the Euro 76. Panenka stepped up to take the last penalty for Czechoslovakia against West Germany and he ran towards the ball before smoothly chipping the goalkeeper. Since that day many players have used his penalty technique. Cristiano Ronaldo— The Ronaldo Chop: Cristano Ronaldo is one of the very few active players to have a skill move named after him. The Ronaldo chop is used to quickly turn a defender away with a quick drop of the shoulder that can open up space inside the penalty box. An example of the efficiency of this move is Ronaldo’s goal against Roma in the 2015/16 Champions League. Zinedine Zidane — Zidane Roulette or The 360: Zidane was a midfield maestro during his playing days. One of the best midfielders of his generation. Zidane’s turn/Zidane’s roulette is a skill move that became very popular because of how often Zinedine Zidane used to do it. Diego Maradona was also known for the 360 skill move. Johan Cruyff— The Cryuff Turn: The Late Ajax and Barcelona hero created one of the most deceptive moves in football. In 1974, Johan Cryuff introduced the Cryuff turn. A deceptive move that helps attackers beat defenders by dummying and turning defenders inside at the same time. Cuauhtémop Blanco— The Blanco Hop or Bunny Hop: This move is very common for skillful players like Neymar. It involves using the inside of both feet to grab the ball at the same time and hopping out of tackles or contact from defenders.
