Re: Living In The Uk-life Of An Immigrant (part 2) by canadaishome:
1.Are we allowed to have people come into fix something in the house?

2. We are badly in need of wifi as my wife works online a and in the flat we rented, there is a vodafone modem used by the previous tenant. Can we call them to choose a plan so they can reactivate it for us?

3. Is it possible to open a bank account without going to the bank as we are still I'm quarantine?

Thank you in advance
1. Are you still in quarantine?

Yes

2. If you can get an EE sim card, they have manageable pay as you go Plans

We got Lycamobile but there is a cap on the data. We need unlimited data

3. Starling, Monzo "if you have your brp"

Great but not yet as we are still in quarantine. But I don't know if it is possible to pick it up when we go and submit our samples for day 2 or day 8 covid test

You're still in quarantine, so I do not think any company will send a representative to fix anything in your apartment at the moment.

You cannot pick up your brp till Day 11OR when your Day 8 results comes out which may be after Day 11

If you need unlimited data, you probably require a ‘proper’ contract with the providers

Grateful to have your response

Lycamobile's services tend not to be quite reliable.

The limits for different banks vary.
I spent the equivalent of 66 pounds on a transaction on my Zenith card last week.
Rates too vary, different banks charge different exchange rates, even though I dont think any of the ones I use are close to blackmarket rates.
Zenith and GTB tend to stick closer to the CBN rate, while I think Access and UBA do not.

3 is the best for you.
It's unlimited data is 35 pounds a month, and its network is better than Lycamobile.
EE's tariffs are no way near that.

Lol, dont worry, Nigerian banks cannot give you what they don't want you to have.
The limit is $100 generally for the two banks I use.
