Fighting guerilla warfare is different from conventional one. Even Russia ran away from mujahedeen in Afghanistan.

Ask yourself why the Talibans couldn't drive Americans out from Afghanistan until they decided to leave themselves.

The Talibans hid deep in the mountains until Americans decided to leave, USA lost 2400 troops in 20 years and the Talibans lost 100,000 thousands plus not to even talk about Thousands that were captured alive and incarcerated.
