The last time I checked, Itshekiri sons and daughters are integral members of Afenifere, Egbe Omo Oduduwa.

Thus, if Itshekiri formed a homogeneous state, nothing stops a Yoruba group from demanding they be part of a Yoruba nation because of their cultural affinity.
