I saw a car on sale and the seller said the car has gear issues, I like the car. Should I go ahead and buy it or leave it, all I am asking is whether the car will continue having issues after I replace the gear system ?

If you're sure the car is not a scrap already. If you're sure the only problem the car is having is the gear, then price down the car so as to make up for the cost of buying and fixing a new gear and other unforseen expenses.

Provide the name, year of manufacture and the engine type of the car.

Again, hope the is moving or starting fine?

How about the condition of the legs?

Hope the car is not dropping/shorting oil from the engine?

To buy this, know the cost of the total repairs and subtract from the price of a neatly used car of same brand

It's a bad deal through and through. I'm done with buying beat up cars and refurbishing myself. If the gear or engine is bad, the owner should fix it first. Failure to do so means he's masking the nightmares the lemon has been giving him/her.

When you can't test run a car, you are blinded to many other issues you would otherwise have known. I bought a car once ago with a bad gear. Replaced the gear at Point if sale and before I drive home the engine had overheated and knocked due to a bad oil pump.

Run from that car. It is known for that issue. I'm sure you might be tempted by the price, dont fall for it.

they use a CVT gear and their transmission rubber snaps

Acura can't be on that list of cars with problems,it is a more refined Honda,I used an Acura RL for 4 years and I am yet to use another car that will match it in reliability

I'll advise you to buy it if you have the will to fix the car. Bid a quarter of the price
