Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos is considering the establishment of a new university in the state.

In what appeared to be an advancement of the move to have another tertiary institution in Lagos, a public hearing on a bill for a law to provide for the establishment of the University of Education, Lagos (UNEDLAG), was widely accepted.

For the sake of establishing UNEDLAG, the state’s colleges of education: Michael Otedola College of Education (MOCPED) and the Adeniran Ogunsanya College of Education (AOCOED) would be merged.

It will be a wonderful thing for the teeming masses longing for a career in teaching to have such institution in Lagos. Just as an equivalent of university of technology. Kudos!
