Nigerians sometimes I don't really understand the essence why they attend fourwalls of any institution.
Governors have succeeded in mortgaging the future of this country and nobody is complaining about that, all our interest is on federal.
The so called governors incapacitated the closest government to the people (LG), nobody is complaining..our problem is the federal.

When they talk about vat, someone from Enugu and Abakaliki will be joining Lagos State to shout fiscal federalism forgetting that his state is on same level as Yobe state in terms of IGR.

Truth is that aside from Lagos and about two or more states, others depend on the federal government to pay ordinary salaries. That's how terrible it is

Why is a state like Osun that generates more IGR than most northern states and some southern states yet gets the lowest allocations in successive years. With low allocation, how do you expect such a state embark on lots of infrastructures and payment of its workers?
If a state like Osun that has gold deposits is allowed to control its resources, more development would be visibly achieved.

Did you read that they generate nothing or that they generate less than they get? Most states will generate more if they depend less on federal allocations, they will be more creative in providing avenues for income generation else they will become bankrupt.

This is exactly why we want to help the FG by lifting the burden of VAT collection off its shoulder, devolution of power and resource control. It will divert our binoculars to the states once the FG approves this.

Do you know what VAT means. For now ,our VAT is paid centrally but it will change henceforth. Every state will collect VAT based on goods consumed in their states and east and north will do well here.

It will favor all states but the VAT for ogun and Lagos will be reduced with no significant effect.

Lol you are very wrong.. How will Vat from Lagos and Ogun reduce when they have never collected it.. VAT is a consumption tax. The more you consume the more tax you pay except what you are consuming is VAT exempt. unfortunately most items in the north are VAT exempt i.e(Basic food items, sharia laws banning alcohol and other items that should bring in VAT).

States that have a high standard of living and population to purchase and consume vatable products will benefit. Lagos, Ogun, is at the very top of the food chain here.

To tell you what Lagos will be gaining, they reduced the VAT rate from 7.5% to 6% on Wednesday
