I just want to ask a simple question : if you don't want people to sit at home as a form of protest, what is the alternative you're suggesting? Open protest, rioting, another war?

What do you really want? For us to take the situation as it is and siddon look like the Nigerians?

What do you really want the Igbo man to do?

Form political organizations and unions then take over power in the SE then from there you can work with the SW and get a sutiable leader to win the election then you can get your referendum and everybody is happy.

A referendum for secession does not exist in the Nigerian constitution. So what do you want the people to do?

As I said if you can get the right leaders to take over power a referendum can be started, the best way to gain power is either through a strong grassroot movement or by changing the ruing parties from the inside out

No wonder. I have successfully diagnosed your problem. You're not properly nuanced with the Nigerian political system that's why you keep shooting off target.

* You don't get a referendum by "the right leaders". That's rather naive. I won't tell you how it's gotten in any case.

* The strongest grassroot movement in the history of Nigeria was the Endsars movement. What did you achieve with it? I'll let you answer that.

* "Changing the ruling parties from inside out" is another rather naive proposition. You want to change APC from the inside out? Do you think this is a movie?
Okay. What party do you belong to?

All the "Igbos" who have been wailing about the sit at home. Come and state your case. Come and show IPOB that their sit at home is baseless, stupid and self injurious to the Igbo nation. By doing so you will tender working alternatives.

Solsix we start with you. You have the floor. Deltafire you're good to go also.

How do you take political power without the INEC??
Are you the one controlling INEC??
Do you really think that the powers that be will allow IPOB to take over political power in the East just like that??
Ok, can you tell us what happened to the mandate Imo citizens gave to Emeka Ihedioha??
Boy is like you're not in this country to know and understand how things work here.

Sit at home is a useful tool in biafra agitation but when it's frequently used it becomes a burden on the people. Imagine not doing any meaniful business for two days?? Due you know the economic loss for most companies?? How will you convince an investor to invest in south east with limited working days?? If this trend continues profit margin will reduce and retrenchment will follow. You know the consequences of unemployment?? The worst is burning down businesses who fail to comply and in worst case death of fellow igbo man. In one whatsapp group aguy encourage people to register and get thier PVC. One IPOB guy threatened his life and even promised to send unknown gun men and even burn his house. This is a church whatsapp group if u must know. There is a job I do on Mondays to Wednesday, the job is online because of sit at every Mondays. The demerit of weekly sit at home cannot be over emphasize. If we really want to get Buharis attention we do something that will touch him or Nigeria economy. Sit at home is destroying south east economy. Imagine you closing you business every Monday because police arrested your father? How does that affect the police??

Yes, sitting at home more than once stretches the people too much and then the economic demerits is there too as outlined. Correct.

I will ignore the numerous merits of the sit at home. Now a question for you : as we have seen these possible demerits like retrenchment, induced employment etc what is a much better working alternative we can use to replace the weekly (suspended) sit at home?

Mind you am not totally against sit at home but weekly. It can be replaced with road work, peaceful protest while the economic activities still go on. I think these are better alternative

What's stopping you from creating a political party and uniting all the Igbos under it? If this party could win 90% of positions in the house if assembly as well as governorship positions what exactly is stopping them from spreading their influence into other parts of the south giving it the chance to win the presidential election? I've already started with this since December 2020 i've joined a political movement and we've been trying to get registered and we've done at least 20 grassroot meetings in Lagos, Ogun, Anambra, Kano, Kogi and Rivers and as more members join the movement can become bigger the only way to move forward in politics is through action.

What happened is that some of them have chosen crumbs instead of freedom.

Another thing is that it's not everybody that claims to be Igbo is truly Igbo by blood. Some was born out of promiscuous lifestyle of their mothers that's why I don't take them serious neither do I take there words as the truth.

Oyigboupdate, udele1 and juliusmalema you lots are needed here!

Nice thought, but how are we to trust the Yoruba, in igbo land they are believed to be saboteurs after the war.

Since politics is the language you understands, how do we cross that big gate which is INEC??
Since we are not the ones in control of INEC and we all know that elections in this contraption has never been free and fair why do you still have hope in a failed system??

At least you used believed to be, because they aren't as many know i'm half Igbo and i'm half Yoruba so I have a perspective from both sides of the argument and I can say confidently that we can unite easily without much problem as long as we have the right representatives on both sides. The only way for such a union to take place is for a common ground to be found until that happens not much unity can be achieved but when the Yoruba and Igbo find a common ground then the north will be defenseless against the movement that will take place across the south

Good suggestion. Uniting all Igbos in Nigeria under one political party can get us many things truly.

Now, the next question is : what if the Igbos have zero interest in doing so. What then?

What part of INEC is the problem registration? If it's not registration but the election you're worried about all I can say is that the people will know if INEC has stolen their mandate either in 2023 or 2027 the people will come together and vote the right leader if the leader is not given power properly and the election is clearly rigged they will revolt and they will take back power and give it to the rightful leader would you not prefer such a revolution over a civil war?

This comment is so twisted and wrong. They have no intention of moving forward because they're not interested in Nigeria anymore? Almost 70 years of wilderness in this godforsaken country and the people want to leave but to you they are not ready to move forward.

You are a short distance away from political extremism. If you were in power you would kill all Igbo secessionists.

Gosh.
