Time to scrap the 13% derivation principle. Every oil-producing state should manage and control its resources just as VAT is becoming state bound.

Majority of the youth in the north are illiterates without basic education.

This should not be about celebration, it should be about thinking; thinking on how the natural resources will benefit the indigenes, thinking on how the new oil rich location will not suffer the fate of the existing oil producing state in Nigeria, thinking on how the minority few from within will not turn the oil well into their family and personal properties, how the state will not be exploited and made to suffer pollution.

If they can think on these they will understand they have little cause to jubilate and many reasons to act and act wisely.

Anambra is now officially gazetted as major oil producing state in Nigeria. In the letter that was signed by the professor Ibrahim Gambari the chief of staff to the president, all the details to that effect were stated.

There are two major oil and gas exploration/drilling companies currently drilling oil in Anambra state. Anambra will start immediately to receive oil revenues.
