Anambra Receives N268.2 Million First Oil Allocation As Oil Producing State by ExplorerReturns(m): 9:10am On Aug 12
Anambra State government confirmed yesterday that it has received N268.2 million revenue in its new status as an oil producing state.

The amount was from the mineral derivation revenue from the Federation Account for the month of July 2022 totalling N268,232,939.16.

The state Commissioner for Finance, Ifeatu Onejeme, who confirmed the development said the feat was finally achieved sequel to Professor Chukwuma Soludo’s “massive follow up and collaborative initiatives with relevant federal government agencies.

Vanguard recalls that Anambra State was recognized as an oil producing state during the administration of former Governor Willie Obiano.

Apparently reacting to social media reports that the state received over N300bn from the federal government as its share of 13% oil derivation, the Commissioner insisted that what the state received was N268,232,939.16.

Onejeme said: “The attention of Anambra State government has been drawn to several false and misleading stories circulating on some social and online media platforms about the 13% Oil Mineral Derivation Revenue received by Anambra State.

“This press release is deemed necessary in the public interest, in the spirit of full disclosure and in line with our principle of transparency, to address the deliberate misinformation and provide Ndi Anambra and the general public with the correct state of affairs.

“The proviso to S.162(2) of the 1999 Constitution (as amended) of the Federal Republic of Nigeria provides that the principle of derivation shall be constantly reflected in any approved formula determined by the national assembly for revenue allocation from the Federation Account and such derivation shall not be less than thirteen per cent of the revenue accruing to the Federation directly from any natural resources.

“Following a decade of hard work by industry experts from Anambra State in collaboration with past administrations, Anambra State was officially recogniszd as a petroleum-bearing and oil-producing state on July 27, 2021 by the Revenue Mobilization Allocation and Fiscal Commission at its 139th Plenary Session held on that date.

“The current administration of Prof Charles Chukwuma Soludo took up the mantle from there with massive follow up and collaborative initiatives with relevant federal government agencies to achieve the eventual implementation of the decision.

“Anambra State officially started receiving mineral derivation revenue from the Federation Account in the month of July 2022 with the first net receipt of N268,232,939.16 (Two Hundred and Sixty-Eight Million, Two Hundred and Thirty-Two Thousand Nine Hundred and Thirty-Nine Naira and Sixteen Kobo only).

“Ndi Anambra and the general public are therefore enjoined to disregard any other information about the amount of mineral derivation revenue received by Anambra State circulating in the social media.”

Peter Obi will transform Nigeria from a beggerly nation to a production economy where other African countries will be begging for visa to come and see.

For your 3 square meals, vote for Peter Obi.

There are lots of shameless and senseless people in this country.

How can someone just type a figure and claim it was Anambra's share of the derivation largesse?

Why do Nigerians love FAKE NEWS? undecided

That's south south and south east are Niger Delta region.

That's why they are called Niger Delta region..
But most people from outside don't get or understand..

The fact only Biafra sit at home is effective in the south east doesn't change the fact that it was an ijaws man who brought up the name Biafra..

But some clowns of the generation still don't understand

Biafra, Niger Delta, bed of natural resources , gave the region same name .. but to tackle some issues ... (Don't want to mention), that's why you have South South and southeast

But many illiterate whom seems to be more in numbers refuse to learn and understand

What about the arrears placed in an account until the Commission determined if Anambra's oil had indeed been paid to Imo and Delta states by the fraudulent Indian company?

The injustice Nigeria knows no bounds.

You produce oil, the federal government takes a whopping 87% and gives the owners of the resources 13%. That is daylight robbery!

When you ask why, they will say it is because of "one Nigeria"

He also made bovi rich ..

He feed all the Yoruba people morning evening and night.. okay tell me what else Tinubu haven't done..

After all he was the one whom started oil exploration in Anambra

Let's start from there

Wow, that's good!

Anambra is now balanced to truly become a great state. Home of billionaires, businessmen and manufacturers now receiving oil money.

They also have the best governor any state can hope for and with the way Soludo is harmonizing and expanding the tax base, I see Anambra jumping into the first 5 states in Nigeria in terms of IGR.

Well done to SOLUDO, more reason why you should vote Peter Obi for President, Nigeria will go from a consuming country to a producing country.
