Like I said, if u get a 5000 Watts step up, it should power an iron.

Good PM sir, I got the transformer yesterday and plugged it to the 110V side, then switched it on . I plug an extension on the other side for me to plug my stabilizer but it doesn't work. What could be the cause?

Please share pictures. And show us your readings on the input and output side.

I went to the electrical shop today and i was given another one which was tested before i left there. I got home and plugged my stabilizer and the transformer raised it to 110V but the stabilizer went off suddenly and i decided to test the other end of the transformer with an extension but it has refused to on again

I don't think this would work. The power is low. The transformer only invert btw current and voltage. When you increase the voltage, you reduce the current.

Okay, thanks. I just checked and notice the fuse have burnt which is what made it not to power on and i just fix it now and it's now working perfectly. It's now blowing my fan like die.

Wow...I am having same power issue from bad transformer..I will surely try this method out with my 2kva stabilizer...the stabilizer doesn't give out put, because the protection light keeps flashing... thanks at everyone who contributed to this...

Pls what's the name of the step up/down you bought? A picture would be nice too. I have the same issue with <50V power supply.

Just go to where they are selling electronics. Tell them you need a step up transformer. It's usually black in colour

I'm using a 1000kv stab it was working fine at first until when the current in my area dropped lower.

Now my Stab keeps turning on and off or just blue light.

Is step up/step down transformer a good solution and if yes like how many watts should I get?
Re: Pls I Need A Help On How A Stabilizer Works by Raregem9000(m): 8:55am On Nov 18, 2022
I'd advise you get a 5000KV stab. Although, the transformer I got back then worked but it didn't last long before it got burnt and that's because the current wasn't stable.

Good morning. Can 200 watt step up transformer be enough for a thermocool frezeer 216 litres?
Re: Pls I Need A Help On How A Stabilizer Works by Raregem9000(m): 6:46am On Mar 24, 2023
No, 200 can never be enough. Check the power rating of your freezer first.

was the 5000va stabilizer able to boost the 50v current to 220v without the stepup?
please let me know why you recommended the 5000va stabilizer, instead of stepup transformer that worked for you back then.
thanks
Re: Pls I Need A Help On How A Stabilizer Works by Raregem9000(m): 7:11pm On Oct 15, 2023
No, it wasn't. I learnt stabilizers can only boost current up when is @ 100v or above. Reason why I recommend getting the 5000va stabilizer is because it can't get spoil as a result of the current fluctuation like the step up will. The only thing there is that it'd only work if the current is above 100v like I said above and when it's below 100v, it will stop working until current is at 100v or above again. You can get the step up if the current in your area isn't fluctuating like ours was back then
